| Lovely =]
I was hungry. No! Very hungry actually, because we initially planned on going to a buffet..
The location's really off the beaten track. There's a bus stop not too far away, but the number of bus services are limited. Drivers, on the other hand, have it easy! There's ample parking at a public carpark just a few mins walk away. However, I don't think it's very safe for lone lady drivers as the street lamps are faulty (quite dark) and there were a number to foreign workers drinking in the carpark (I'm not discriminating).
My group of 5 arrived at 2000hrs and there were only 2 couples (they left shortly after - our loud chatters probably spoilt to ambience =/) in the restaurant on that Sunday evening.
Food/Beverage:
Maybe I’m just a little more conscious of what goes into my mouth, or my sense of taste is really better (self-praise =P) – one sip of their chilled water and I knew instinctively that it really is mineral water that is being served, nice!
Since it was our first time dining there for all but one in my group, we ordered 4 main courses (chicken, duck, mutton & beef) and 1 spaghetti (fish - salmon) to share. This way, we could try out different dishes =D I ought to kill myself because I forgot all the names of the dishes, with the exception of Cajun Chicken =/
The main courses were all lovely, though the serving size for the duck is a tat small. However, I don’t fancy the spaghetti =[
Their homemade fries are worthy of a special mention. They’re basically potatoes cut plank-like and deep fried, crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside (so much more satisfying than the measly “regular” ones) =]
Ambience/Service:
The service was good and deco was cosy, but neither gave a professional feel.. It felt more like dining at a friend’s home, which I think is something different =]
Value:
We spent quite a bit, but it's well worth the money (not forgetting that each of us also ordered desert)!
