| not good enough, even for my dog!
wanted to eat at Kazu Yakitori but it was closed for CNY, wife and i was about to try some other yakitori joint downstairs when she remembered this Tex-mex place next to OG. not a bad idea, it will satisfy her craving to find a really good Tex-mex restaurant, and i can satisfy my 3 week long craving for a burger.
THE FOOD
first came the FRENCH ONION SOUP. looked more like cabbage soup, doesnt taste great. so its not good at all, they're basically trying to use butter to give it flavour. disappointing.
we also ordered a STRAWBERRY SHAKE and the QUESADILLIA'S. these are not bad, nothing to crave for but the Q was crunchy and tasty. i'd order this again IF i visit again (ie i doubt i'll ever order this again...)
the wife strangely decidedly to go for the WALDOFF SALAD (APPLE SALAD or something like that) to satisfy her Tex-mex craving....., it comes with apple mayonnaise sauce. sounds exciting but it just tastes like artificial apple sauce.
sticking to my craving, i ordered a MUSHROOM BURGER. we were wondering if this burger was made of beef or mushroom. wanted to check but reemmebered the waitress asking how i wanted my burger done (was really impressed to be asked that! gourmet burger style...) so we didnt bother double checking. the burger was crumbly and taste CYY (chao yau yik in Cantonese, or tasting of unfresh oil). i tried but simply couldnt finish the burger.
we later realised that the burger was so bad that i didnt even think to pack it in a doggy bag for Ziggy, something i usually do with leftovers, or good piece of meat...
AMBIENCE
nothing great. its along a sidewalk without much passers by. lots of smoking seats for those who want to have a drink and smoke though.
VALUE
Carl's Jr's burger is cheaper and nicer, CJ's salad is also cheaper and better.
SERVICE
friendly waitress who smiled a lot. and luckily the wife asked her what was nice, which led us to order the Quesadilla's. her other recommendation was the buffalo wings.
FINALLY.... naturally, we skipped dessert and rushed away so quickly car park was a cheap $1.... the only truly satisfying part of the dinner....
