What can I say, its cheap!

I've been to this place like a dozen times since its opening and has never occurred to me to write a review on it. Today maybe I should.

I was first attracted by the words: Sushi 99cents a plate. I didn't put in much thoughts about anything else and went there for my weekend dinner. Crowded and a little rowdy, this place was bustling with activities. Customers are seated at one end and the food is at the other. I guess not having too much cluster is a good thing.

The system works this way. You get a table and you can leave it empty, as the servers will know that the seats are taken. You then proceed to the food counter to get what you would like to have. Sushi was served on the conveyer belt. Any sushi you want that is not there, you will have to place an order with the chefs. All other food stuffs like ramen and drinks are taken orders using Ice Cream Sticks. You select what you want, go back to your seats and put them in the little baskets and they will proceed with the orders.

The system works for the management, but I didn't think it worked much for the customers. Many a time, customers have to signal for the servers to take their orders. I guess this has got to do with efficiency and effectiveness.

Don't expect too much from the food. At 99cents a plate, one should be lucky that the sushi even taste like 1! The taste isn't that bad, but the quality ain't that great either. For other items like their BBQ sticks, its a little over priced, at SGD 5.90 a plate. Ramen and don were served at a price of between SGD 6.90 to SGD 12.90, and well, all I can say is that at this price, I can get better ones.

Its amazing how they manage to have streams of customers. And once in a while, when I'm feeling poor and feel like having jap food, that's the place I'll go to. Otherwise, count me out. Please.

I also recommend this place for
Type of meal:Cheap Eat/Budget
Occasion:Large Groups/Gathering, Children/Family
Atmosphere:Vibrant/Noisy
