Went there for the usual monthly anniversary celebrations a.k.a food galore and i was astoundingly amazed :]
The atmosphere was rather quiet that night & the overall feel is very corporate [it being a business hotel] and most of the other people present were businessmen. Thus it did feel abit 'uptight' compared to the buzz at carousel & the line etc.
Loved these the most;
a. seafood/cold starters/soups & salads [ huge and fresh crayfish, sashimi, prawns and the cold alaskan crab ! my goodness ]
b. italian/western section [ pasta & creamy seafood was addictive ]
Gb had most of the asian section and there were chefs walking around serving/slicing roast/bbq chicken,pork(char siew) and chinese sausages. It was so funny as one particular chef was so alert that he kept coming back to our table whenever he noticed we had finished our chicken ! What efficient service - maybe because there was not many people so they were more free than usual :] We did not find it irritating at all because it became more of a joke than anything else.
They also had this very unique, healthy brewed chinese noodles soup dish with red dates,sliced chicken swimming in a herbal and refreshing broth (picture 3) that made me feel i was in hk or taiwan as it really tasted like no other chinese noodle dish that i came close to eating.
Overall, the variety was sufficiently splendid; they had multiple fruit and leafy salads, two types of soups, cold starters & seafoods, a plethora of western, italian, chinese & indian cuisine and last but not least desserts !
Cant wait to go back there again :p Plus there is 15% discount for certain cards though i cant rmb which ones we used; either citibank or DBS. |
