My boyfriend brought me here for our anniversary, was quite surprised since its pretty ulu. Luckily my boyfriend have made a reservation, seeing the inside was quite full. We got seated somewhere in the middle. It was quite romantic with the dim lightings but quite noisy too. The ppl there do not serve with a smile, most seems to have a cloud over their face.
But the food is worth the wait. We tried the smoked salmon salad-pretty generous with the fish, borsch soup was good. Main course we got the steak, pretty ok and the dessert was really good. Too bad we didn't get to try their baked alaska which my boyfriend heard that it was pretty good. Overall, food was good but service not appealing, price was pretty hefty. |

This is a very old-schooled restaurant with mostly old wait staff helming the service for the past few decades and this is what they have been doing for decades. In fact, my parents romanced and dined here in those hey days and so its more of a trip down memory lane here than all the service, ambience, etc stuff that is all so impt these days in every new rstnt being set up. :) |

Yup, really an old-schooled Hainanese style restaurant. Got really put off by a waiteress that took our orders without a writing pad and kept coming back (a couple of times!) to either finger point or nuged MY shoulder with her elbow and went "Aae, what's your order har?"
The famous soup was sold out (nothing else to impress), so for the 9 of us, that was our first and last time. Except of the one fren that brght us there, she was a diehard fan ; )
