| Sweet? maybe not today
Decided to check out Sweet Indulgence after seeing it in HGW's interesting places to visit in July.
Well, unfortunately it wasn't gonna be a good day to visit, it seems..
Called up at 2+ pm to check if they were still available for late lunch, the person on the other end was like "er.. yah?" I specifically asked (twice) if it would serve lunch all the way till dinner time, maybe I still wasn't clear enough.
When I got there, the waitress informed me that lunch was over. (what??!)
I decided to come back for dinner since the specialities still sounded interesting, me being a seafood fan reading about Mussels and Seafood. Plus, the tiramisu was said to be a must try. (i lOOOve tiramisu)
Dinnertime and I returned. The place was quiet and cosy, creating a rather relaxed ambience.
We ordered
Mussels in White wine sauce
Lamb Shank
Spaghetti with spicy prawns
Mussels were great, fresh and the white wine sauce so was just so tasty.
Lamb shank was great when it arrived on our table, but towards the end, it just seemed to have lost its flavour (I don't know why). The mashed potato that came along wasn't too spectacular either, the sauce was slightly strange.
Spaghetti with spicy prawns? There was nothing spicy about it, not a flake of chilli or anything that might have made me feel it was even a tad spicy. Perhaps it should have just been named Prawns Aglio Olio.
Sweet? Not for me, not today. The tiramisu was not available, that was a real let-down, and not being informed about the lunch hour even when I called, not good.
Overall, the mussels were the only things I would miss, but probably not enough to return. |

Dear hungry pixie,
First of all, thank you for taking the time to write your feedback on our restaurant.
I would like to appologise for the miscommunication between you and my staff. Lunch at Sweet Indulgence is only served from 11.30am to 2.30pm.This allows our kitchen staff to get sufficient rest before preparing for the dinner crowd.
On our food, I am glad that you enjoyed our mussels, which is dipped in our in-house white wine sauce that was created after several experiments. I will feedback your other food comments to my Head Chef as we take your inputs very seriously in trying to create a great dining experience for all our customers.
Finally, I would also like to appologise for the running out of the Tiramisu onthe day you came, which is a favourite at the restaurant and tends to get snapped up pretty fast. Hopefully you will be able to try this specialty the next time you visit us.
Having said that, I look forward to serving you again at Sweet Indulgence.
Yours Sincerely,
Chris. |
