what a name !

I read with amusement Ji Lian sister review on her experience at Va Va Voom ! She had a rather pleasant experience with the food except for the vegetables serving.
I was there last weekend with some friends and was immediately attracted by the name ; va va voom !!! sounds great like " the guns of Navaron ".
Anyway we wanted some desserts after an unremarkable chicken rice lunch next door. I ordered a single scoop ice cream ; my friends went for their coffee and black glutinous rice.
The place is comfortable ; pretty tasteful interior improvements and while you wait for your desserts at a corner they even provide you gossipy magazines which wasnt a bad idea.
20 minutes went by ; nothing happened. I thought the restaurant was full ; but there were a few guests whose demeanor didnt quite suggest they were in any happier mood.
We asked the waiter for the delivery status and he came back only with my single scoop of ice cream ; plain chocolate like what you could get at any street corner! I was jubiliant.
Then came the two coffee ; rather cute as I couldnt quite make out the two contraptions on
top of the coffee cups ; looks like minature percolators and the coffee drips into the cups as if the holes were mostly choked with coffee powder!!
It took about 7 - 8 mins before the cup was a quater filled and by which time it was lukewarm. The next best thing to do was to drink them up quickly as we didnt order ice coffee for the other half !!!!!!
Then came the clincher ; the black glutinous rice . It came in a pretty nice bowl but what we saw was like baby porridge ; gluey and looks like soft paste ! My firend remarked she didnt order Heinz baby food ; I joked at least it brings her back to her days when she was a little girl!
Vroom vroom vroom .................. we made our exit from Vietnam .

Must Tries: anything but any of the above
