Lightning does not strike twice. I do, if it's worth it.

Dinner on 20 Jan 2009: I suggested this place to a friend after reading raving reviews here on this joint that is around my neighbourhood.

We came here yesterday for an early dinner at 6pm.

The place is rather easy to find. It's the parking that's a killer. The driveway for the parking lots is so narrow I ran into the curb going forth or reversing. But all is gd, managed to squeeze into a lot finally.

On 1st look, this place gives me a very cosy feel. I like the drawing and collage of pictures all over the wall and the decor of book cases filled with books, makes me feel like home. :)

Well, it was rather early on a weekday evening and the place was relatively empty, other than a table that's occupied.

We chose to ensconce ourselves on the couch with towels and cushions all over. Very comfortable.

I ordered a mini Silken Tofu Salad (house specialty), my friend a standard House Salad and a Mango Udon Roll (house specialty) to share.

I wasn't that hungry but I remembered thinking why did it take so long for the salads to be served.

When the salads finally came, we tucked in and I was quite delighted with the tofu salad with sesame sauce and the generous sprinkle of pumpkin seeds all over. I polished everything up. My friend's House Salad was doused in soya sauce and she found it a tad too saltish. Halfway through our salads, then was the Mango Udon Roll served. It's mango, vege and udon noodles wrapped in rice rolls. Honestly, it was mediocre even though it is a house specialty. It totally reminded of the vietamese rice roll which I don't like very much.

My friend then ordered Earl Grey Tea with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, which we acquiesce in an opinion that we have tasted better tea and ice cream else where ie Coffee Club Express.

We wanted to order the Pumpkin Yam dessert but they only served cakes yesterday. Awww...I was quite disappointed.

On the way to the loo, then did I realize there's an al fresco seating area out at the back of the cafe! Seems nice. Think I'll come back again to try dining under the stars next time round.

Overall, I am rather fond of this joint. I'll definitley be back since it's quite near to my abode, just to hangout and chill.

Apparently, the owners are arranging for Little Part 2 Cafe to happen soon. This nugget of information was given as I curiously asked why is this cafe called Little Part 1, and whether there are other parts anywhere else. :)

Drinks and Dessert on a Sat evening on 19/06/09: Came with a friend for a after-dinner-drinks-before-movie-dessert treat. Ordered the apple crumble, hot chocolate and green tea ice blended to share. Love the apple crumble! It's simply divine. I thought the hot chocolate was pretty normal. Green Tea Ice Blended was more milky than Starbucks' but it was a refreshing aberration from commonplace cafes that only have the quotidian order of drinks.

Friend commented that this is a nice little plc for friends to convene and confabulate, although we were rather self conscious abt talking too loudly as the cafe was considerably quiescent, with reticent activity from other tables.

Must Tries: Silken Tofu Salad
