| Good food but water bombed
Noticed this place many times but never got the chance to eat there, but ate there 2 times in two days. Each time we ate there, we had to threaten to walk out of the restaurant unless they served us ice water, instead of "sorry sir, you have to order mineral water" attitude. Cannot understand why they have this silly rule.
Food: The seafood hor fun was excellent, I highly recommend it. Penang fried kway teow was edible but they use a wrong chilli sauce, the chilli used to fry the kway teow is the type meant for punggol mee-goreng, nut penang kway teow. The next time we went, we ordered the kang kang belacan, Hong Kong kai lan, cai-poh fried egg, thai green curry. All were tasty but the Thai green curry is kinda of sweet.
Ambience: Crowded both times we were there and the noise overwhelms everything else, reverberating off the hard ceiling. Barely tolerable, one reason why I may not want to eat there again.
Value: Good quality food at reasonable prices (no GST and no Service charge - maybe that's why they sell mineral water only)
Service: By chance, we were served both times by the same guy either Myanmar or Indian looking guy. Since it was only a day apart, he could have recognised us and said hi - but he didn't. Overall good, food came promptly and they topped up our water - charged us 20cts per head for "hot water" with free ice. Ha Ha. |
