Average Joes

I was very excited to hear about the new Sapporo Ramen Stall in Bukit Panjang Plaza.

I ordered the Chef's recommendation - the Special Sapporo Miso Ramen and a side of gyoza and some Tempura prawns.

The main thing with ramen is that the soup has to be absolutely burning hot - so hot you can barely put the spoon to your mouth without scalding your lips and tongue. When you blow onto the soup there should be plenty of steam coming off. Unfortunately the soup here felt tepid and needed to be much hotter for satsifaction. It was well seasoned and tasted authentic although i prefer my soup much more salty. I enjoyed the soft boiled egg as well. The noodles were OK.

The gyoza was a little watery and had undoubtedly been frozen previously. The tempura was nice but a little oily and possibly the oil was a little old.

There is free flow green tea - either hot or iced and the waitress was very keen to keep me filled up.
