| Malay food without going to Arab village
You usually need to go to Arab village at the Sultan mosque area for good Malay food other than those found at town centers. This restaurant opened a few years ago to save you the journey.
Reservation: Don't think they reserve. Just walk in queue, get the food, pay and then sit down to eat, sharing a table is quite common.
Food /Beverage: Quality Malay food, the beef and mutton rendang is great, selar fish well fried and fresh and their "sayur lodir" memorably tasty. The owner has his receipt stored in a safe at home !!. Only puzzlement is that they do not serve teh tarek - how can !!! Malay food is always accompanied by teh tarek. We had to adjourn to the Zion road food center to enjoy our teh tarek after lunch.
Ambience: Clean, airy, many, seats, counter service (one eye see all).
Value: On the high end of Malay food, one serving of fish/meat, veg, "tamper" fermented soy bean and ikan bilis would set you back about $5.50. Each squid is $4.
Service: Non - DIY. Watch out for the Chinese man at the drink counter, his glare could kill you! |

| Must Tries: Beef or mutton rendang - the sauce is special |
