| Gone too atas for its own good; and poor hygiene practice
Saturday (8 Sept 07). Had dinner here with GC and JC.
F&B:
Crispy chicken in Chilli Thai Sauce ($8). The chicken was indeed crispy and the accompanying Thai sauce had sufficient 'kick'.
Baby KaiLan with Oyster Sauce ($6) Standard fare; difficult to go wrong.
Curry Fish Head ($16) Satisfactory.
Rice was charged at 60-cents per plate and wet towels at 30-cents each.
Ambience:
I was seated at a position where I could see drinks being prepared behind the counter. I saw the staff dropped the cover for the creamer pitcher onto the floor. She did not bother to wash it, but simply replaced it back to cover the pitcher. I wish I could have filmed that sequence to post it online as well.
Value:
Average. Total bill came up to $29.70 for 3 pax (after 10% VIP discount).
Service:
S U C K S ! ! After placing our food orders, we were asked for our drinks order. GC asked for hot water and the reply was curt: "Only have mineral water." Water has all along been sold for 20-cents here. The last time GC had hot water here was just last week! What kind of lousy eating establishment does not even want to sell hot water anymore?
My family has been a long-time customer of this branch for donkey years ever since it was located within (the now non-existent) Jackie's Bowl on East Coast Road. We even have a VIP card that gives us a 10% discount. Sadly, I think this might be the last time I will be patronising them. |
