Will you return to this place? Definitely Not

Review Date: 28 Nov 2007
30 Merchant Road, #01-01/02 Riverside Point, Singapore
Honest Mistake??

Food:
Nothing much to shout about... quite mediocre actually.
The outlet in East Coast seemed to taste better.

Ambience:
Quite nice, by the river... / big drain...

Value:
Well.... As for the value... please see below for more details.

Service:
Not too bad... But they need more training on service.
But I wished they had served better food.

My experience yesterday.
We ordered
1 Dou Miao
2 Steamed Soon Hock (It was about the 30cm from head to tail)
3 Fried you tiao with Sotong paste
4 Stir fried Venison
5 1 Black Pepper Crab (One as in 1 crab, she also mentioned it was about 1.5kg)

After making our order, the waitress brought one of the largest Sri Lankan crab that I have even seen... it was about the size of a A4 size paper. So you can imagine the size of the claws. She also mentioned that this was a 1.7kg male crab and asked if it was ok with us. I too made a comment that it was one of the largest crabs I have even seen too... After seeing that... would anyone forget it any time soon??

Anyway after that, the first 3 dish came... Then the crab.
Here's what was strange about the dish.
1. There were 1 and a half crab heads. *Yes you read right. 1.5 heads.
And they were much smaller than the one the waitress had shown us.

2. The claws were 1/2 the size of the ones that I had seen less than 1/2 an hour ago.

So what I did was I rejected the crab and canceled the rest of the orders and called for the bill.

What made it worse was the 30cm soon hock was 30 bucks...
I barely had a bite.

Was a really bad experience.

I felt quite cheated.

Must Tries: Nothing

I'm a
Bargain / Good food hunter

The best meal in my life was at
China

I'm allergic to
1. Seafood that is not fresh 2. Food that is overpriced that tastes like crap but uses the excuse.. "acquired taste"... 3. Queuing for food. 4. Getting ripped off @ restaurants.

My last meal would be
Wanton / Barchor Mee

When I'm not eating I'm
