| I’ll Let You In on My Little Secret…
Coz I just cannot contain my excitement any longer!
Omg OMG. You can’t imagine how delirious I was when I discovered this new chick in the frozen yogurt market. One which will make any Yoguru (*yawn*) or Yami Yogurt (neh I’m partial to Yami Yogurt =P) feel like a dowdy old bore. Frolick - a fledging venture started by a passionate young fella and friends who were quick to jump on the bandwagon. This new takeaway kiosk (with standing tables) retails frozen yogurt in 3 wacky 'Cup' sizes A, B & C. Premium toppings come free with the B & C ‘Cups’.
The yogurt comes in the Original flavor: A ~ $3.50, B ~ $4.80 with one free topping, C ~ $6.30 with two free toppings. Flavored ones (which were unfortunately not available at time of gluttony yet, but is soon on the pipeline in the coming week of 18 Feb): A ~ $3.90, B ~ $5.30 with one free topping, C ~ $6.90 with 2 free toppings. And mind you, the toppings are of premium varieties, ranging from wafflecrisp and clodhoppers cereals, granola, plump sultanas, to fresh strawberries, blackberries and blueberries. Not frozen or freeze-dried ones, but moist and juicy little babies one can find in up-market supermarkets.
I am a sucker for anything milk, cold and has bacteria in it, not to mention frozen ones. Whoever invented frozen yogurt I am eternally thankful! On the day of gluttony, I got the B ‘Cup’ ($4.80) (Wahaha) after a free sample which was nearly enough to make for an A ‘Cup’! I opted out of the free topping as I love yogurts neat and unadulterated; in fact this dessert here is already so good on its own. First you taste the vanilla with a hint of creaminess like greek yogurt, then a slight tangy icicle thrill. Finally when you feel a gush of goodness rushes right through you, you know you are hit with a Darn Good Yogurt! It’s so wholesome I can almost taste the effort that went into making it. Yummy yet healthy, this definitely hit the dessert spot!
Though the stall decor is pretty minimalist but everything else is quirky. There are eye catching slogans stamped on the 2 pillars flanking the stall with cute suggestive badges pinned all over. They also give away free wacky badges with every purchase of their yogurt. I got one which says: Lick it! I spotted others like ‘Life is Topless’, ‘Size Matters Eat More’ and more whimsical ones like ‘We Stay Hard Longer Than Ice Cream!. Wahaha. With such a perky environment, it’s no wonder its strategic location in between the 2 Crystal Jades is so eye-catching it’s really hard to miss. Business was very brisk on that afternoon with a fair share of both expats and locals customers all longing for their dose of yogurts. Service is very forthcoming and cheery. With such a chirpy atmosphere, you can easily do better than just one B ‘Cup’. Like moi. =S
I cringe at the thought it’s so close to home. I’m salivating at the memory of my yogurt which I ate with glee…. I need to find more reasons to come back here more often….I can’t get any more excited!!
So now that the secret is out. WTH are you waiting for? Get your arse booties out of those chairs and FROLICK there now!!! |
