328 Katong Laksa – One of the Twin Titans

For the full review and photos please visit http://thehungrygeek.com/2016/01/27/328-katong-laksa-twin-titans/

As you can imagine, this is one of the best two laksas in Singapore. Honestly it is not even close. The key to making this delicious laksa is in the gravy’s coconut milk balance, and the folks over at 328 Katong Laksa have got it down to perfection. This concoction is so good and difficult to make that even Gordan Ramsay was not able to match it. On your first mouthful the laksa fragrance is overwhelming and delicious. The noodles are al dente and the ingredients are fresh, the taste is just perfect.

That said, if you have a choice, head down to their main branch at 216 East Coast Rd instead, it is less crowded and the laksa taste slightly better over there!

Great laksa, consistent service

This is still one of Singapore's best laksa. The standard is always consistent and the food is good quality and good value for money. Gravy may be not quite as spicy as some other types of laksa, but the amount of prawns are really generous. The fresh laksa leaves also add a scrumptious flavour to the dish.

Highly recommended for a cheap weekend breakfast or if you have a craving for a good bowl of laksa.

Favourite Laksa in SG

My all time favourite laksa in all of Singapore! The laksa flavour is always consistent, with the right amount of coconut milk and hae bee (dried shrimp). Best thing is, they provide chilli at the side so you can add as much or as little as you like.

Cockles are one of the most important part of the dish - it's not overcooked nor undercooked, you can still taste the freshness of it without it being overly fishy.

Eating the entire dish with a spoon guarantees that every mouthful of beehoon is balanced out with a sufficient amount of soup to satisfy.

I don't live in the East, but I travel there constantly to eat this laksa. It's that good.

As good as before....

The last time i tried Katong Laksa was more than 3 years ago. Went back there last week and was glad that it still tasted as good as ever. The laksa stock was "lemak" and flavoursome, and the rice noodles had a nice, springy texture. The prawns were small but fresh. I especially love the cockles that came with it.
