Part two of our shared lunch was a 12pc fried chicken (6 wings actually) Combo set, with soy garlic and hot flavours mixed. Usual price is $16.95, but we utilised the DBS / POSB card promotion and got it at $12.95. The set comes with really yummy fries (that were sprinkled generously with chopped seaweed and chilli flakes) and a soft drink. A spin on the PERX (app) wheel garnered us a complimentary hot-flavoured chicken drumstick as well.


I felt the soy garlic chicken was too sweet, while the hot one was still acceptable, as it had the spice to mask the overt sweetness. W remarked that the YangNum Chicken at Chicken Up would probably be similar, but we will still go back there to try it anyway. I will probably not return to 4Fingers Crispy Chicken for their wings, but might try their burgers, tofu rice set, as well as their kimchi coleslaw. And this will be the first place that I will return to for French fries!

Absolutely yummy fried chicken! Completely blown away by the fried chicken because they were just so very tasty.

Delivery is free of charge although they only deliver to certain areas around town. We half-expected delivery to be along the lines of Pizza Hut or Macs delivery whereby the deliveryman would arrive in a motorcycle with our food packed inside the back of the bike. I was mildly surprised to learn that the deliveryman actually had to take MRT from Ion to City Hall and walk all the way to our office under the hot afternoon sun carrying all our food by hand. Admirable. It's tough to get good staff, so do treasure yours 4Fingers!

I ordered the Chicken Rice Box (Soy Garlic). The fried chicken comes in two flavours, soy garlic and spicy. I personally prefer the soy garlic fried chicken as the spicy ones were a little too hot for me. The fried chicken was crispy outside and tender within and the soy garlic sauce was delicious. The rice was a little mushy though, since it was packed inside the takeaway box for awhile before reaching us. Perfectly understandable so I had no problems with that. The coleslaw tasted a bit like kimchi and was very unique!

I've tried 4 Fingers twice - namely their rice set with two chicken drumsticks, as well as seafood rice set. Both taste really good but on both occasions, I went with different friends who both commented that the MSG taste was very strong! I'm not good at identifying MSG but the sauce seemed particularly flavourful and we did feel very thirsty after that, so I suspect that it may be true.

Otherwise, the chicken drumsticks are very tender inside and done pretty well. Portions are good but I would really recommend that they use less sauce because the sauce is very salty (other than the MSG part).

I know a lot of people complain about the price but I think it's okay given that it's located at Orchard Ion's basement and rental costs are high. The design of the restaurant is very hip though the high chairs are not something that I would care to sit on again. Seats are too small and too high up.

I might consider going back there if they cut down on the MSG. Or maybe add some steamed veggies to their rice sets.
