I just cannot stop ranting about it because from the minute you step into the restaurant, its like you're instantly teleported into a posh royal restaurant in Arabia. Sorry my camera phone photos really dont do the place/food justice but this place has surprisingly really good tea and seafood! And service is fantastic
If you're going for teas, try the Arabic Tea and the Persian Tea.
Arabic Tea, which is actually a mint tea with cinnamon. Very refreshing if you like mint. Persian tea is a fragrant saffron tea.
Complementary Starters - Toftan (not sure of the spelling?!) with zucchinis, feta cheese, mint leave, tomatoes and pickles. The really yummy Toftan tastes abit like naan at the wider end. Crispy on the sharper side..
Caspian Sea Prawns (recommended!) - Three pieces of breaded prawns ($18), a little pricey but the prawns were so thick, juicy and succulent. Served with interesting middle eastern Tartar sauce (cant remember the name).
Beef Sultani - Not too good. Served with Saffron rice - Beef fillet with Minced Lamb kebab. The minced lamb kebab tasted like lamb sausage. and the beef was a little dry..
Scallop dish (recommended!), cant remember the exact name.. its under the specialty dishes menu. A plate of 8 scallops served with crushed green pea sauce and saffron rice. The scallops are soo thick and fresh and springy! My fav dish of the night.
Anyway, this is a really romantic place that is beautifully and quite intricately decorated with bronze/gold, carpets and pretty lamps all over the place. I couldnt stop taking photos.
Quite pricey but worth it.
