Genuine Food
17 Jun 2012Bite Club is a genuine place which serves genuine food.
My girlfriend and i each had Ribeye Steak ($13.90 nett)
I must say that the steak is better than Aston's i guess its because the chef puts in his full focus on preparing the steak.
You can even tell the fries are fresh cut potatoes fried.
We also had Fried Ice Cream ($2 nett) which is nothing special and in fact i feel it's quite unappetizing with the oily fried dough paired with the creamy ice cream...
The cafe puts in alot of effort, serving various dishes from Western to Local fare such as Fish Beehoon and Chicken Curry however the lacklustre appearance and ambience of the cafe makes it look really plain and unattractive.
I would recommend this place for authentic food served well.

New Kid on the Block
16 Jan 2012Just opened for about a month, this new cafe sits in a HDB block a stone's throw away from Tiong Bahru Plaza and MRT. Despite the short walk, being new and yet-to-be-discovered, most of its patrons are still currently students from the nearby PSB Academy. The $3 cappucino I had was q ok (but then I am not a coffee person, I take coffee ~ yearly). What I liked was my $8.50 Chef’s Burger which was going for the promotional rate of $6.50. The patty which came with a slice of cheese and a sunny side-up was juicy and quite tasty. What I especially liked was egg fried to perfection. Overcook an egg, and you’ll get a dry rubbery yolk, and undercook it, and you’ll have gooey yellow stuff oozing & dripping from the sides as you sink your teeth into the burger. This one was moist and semi-solid, i.e. returning the flavour and delicate texture of yoke while maintaining its integrity. ...think “Lava egg”. Funny how an egg in a burger made my day. The burger was accompanied by a generous serving of thinly sliced crispy fries – and a dash of coleslaw. I was tempted by the photo of the $2 fried ice-cream, but restrained myself to preserve my waistline. That, I decided, will be left for my next visit.
