Pretty decent

Brussels Sprouts is known for selling buckets of mussels (and clams) with free flow fries. For $40 a bucket (main size), you get to decide what sauce you'd like your mussels cooked in.

The mussels are pretty fresh and for the price you get a decent amount. We got mussels in white wine sauce, Chilli Crab style and seafood stock. Everyone was pretty happy with his or her choices. The fries arrived pretty limp and kind of lukewarm - I suppose that's what you can expect with free fries.

Besides mussels and clams, the menu also features some non-shellfish based mains and appetisers. These were largely hit or miss. The French Onion soup and Portobello Mushrooms were well executed and full of flavour. However, the Pork Belly arrived severely overcooked and was a chore to chew.

The ambiance is almost hectic and service is curt. The restaurant is huge however and that makes it a good place for a large group to hang out without the fear of being too noisy.

Nice place

Gets abit crowded because of the view. The menu was abit large, but overall there for the mussel pots. Huge variety.

Had the mussels but 1 of the pots cannot make it. the kitchen staff doesnt seem to check freshness of the mussels even after cooking them. Careful.

Beers were especially expensive.

However, service was super quick and prompt. Love that fact.

Best service in Singapore

Being Gluten and Lactose Intolerant, finding a decent restaurant in Singapore is near impossible. At Brussels Sprouts at the big splash the staff goes out of their way to accommodate my diet. The chef prepares the food separately for me. During our last visit one if the staff went quickly to the other location to stock up on more Gluten free beer, another unique benefit that no other restaurant in singapore provides. Thumbs up for this great service

NEVER AGAIN

Having lived in Brussels for some months, I think I know what good mussels and fries are. Brussels sprouts definitely does NOT do justice to the real deal. Back in 2010, I went to the outlet at Robertson Quay, and told myself I would never patronize it again, due to poor quality of food. This evening, I decided to give the big splash outlet a try, thinking it might have improved over the years. However, the verdict remains: NEVER AGAIN. Very poor quality of food - thin, extremely small mussels, broth too salty, fries just dry. Poor service - we were almost denied side plates!! And the steaming hot pot of mussels was held precariously over me by merely balancing the cork base. Ambience is terrible - stuffy and warm, with crappy music. Washroom was in an abominable state. Conclusion: never again to Brussels sprouts.

TOTALLY BAFFLED!!!

My boyfriend and I had a great dining experience in their outlet at big splash last year and we decided to have our dinner at the same restaurant last night. We spent nearly $180 and my boyfriend paid with a thousand dollar note as we did not have any smaller denominations. Unfortunately the staff told us they did not have adequate change in their cash register and in the end he had to sign with his credit card. We were baffled because Brussels Sprouts has so many outlets and it is pretty unbelievable that they could not have change for a mere one thousand note. What if we did not carry any credit card with us???
