Buffet town offers a wide variety of seafood for buffet which is one of the thing that attracts me to eat eat buffet at buffet town. One of the hot selling point are the fresh oysters which they are refilling on a very fast basis. All their food tasted okay for me which did not fall below expectations. A great place to bring your family along to have a nice buffet with lots of food and everyone can enjoy a good family dining experience together. I would recommend this place as a dining place for family people.
the buffet here is not very satisfying. grilled food, like the barbecued chicken and beef satay, were burnt and the time to refill a particular food item was extremely long - i had to wait 10-15mins before i could take a second helping of the braised dory fish.
the buffet line was messy and cluttered, not to mention confusing, they did not group the food according to "wet/dry", but instead placed food at various weird places, for example, pasta, which was on the brochure, took me 10mins to find (without looking around for other food). in the end, i found it sitting in a corner of the restaurant, barely regconisable as a counter serving pasta.
To me the best dish was the soup, commonly known as 'cheng teng', it tasted delicious :)
but the desert was a big no no. fruits there were not properly iced and there were little variety of ice cream flavours to choose from.
although they had sashimi and many other food, it did not hit my expectations of an international buffet - the restaurant lacked interesting cuisines from other countries and food found there were mainly found in evryday life, like chicken wings, ice kachang, and pizza,
the servicve there was up to standard, though, cleaners often smile warmly whenever clearing up, and the counter waiters were welcome when serving food.
but i would not recommend this to children, being a teenager myself, the ambience there to me is not warm nor cosy, but croweded and noisy, more suitable for adults when they are having a gathering.
There is a worm in the oyster on the plate, thin, long, fresh and moving. We called the manager, he said "it was normal".
Oyster is raw and so it is to be properly cleaned and washed. This happening cannot be simply explained by "this is normal". We are greatly disappointedly.
Husband got diaherea after reaching home. Signed up to post this review. We do not recommend dining here. We would top up a few dollars and go somewhere more else next time.
Went for Lunch on Monday, 28 April 2014. Seafood tasted extremely cold and presumerebly left over from Sunday night's Buffet. Not fresh at all with a bit of that bitter taste. Terrible!!! Tepanyaki Chef was very loud, slow and lazy. Infact, the taste of PokChoy Vegetables with Breansprout, together with Fish fillet and Squid, tasted like sort of Vinegary/Sweaty smell. I am totally surprised. I nearly puke with that awful taste and smell!!! The standard of Buffet Town is Inconsistant, with numerous visits encountered so far. A lot of Chefs there need super close supervision and top management is not paying attention to the food quality served to customers in the first place. WILL NOT VISIT BUFFET TOWN ANYMORE!!!!
I don't understand why, with so much fantastic food in Singapore, anyone would choose to eat here. The seafood was dry and tasteless, and despite the range of food we both left hungry. At over $40 each and with so many people in the restaurant I expected something better.
I love buffets and I've been here 3 times so far. Except for the long queues to enter (despite making reservations), I think its a pretty decent buffet place. Don't expect superb quality food here though. Just have a try of every food there. My favorites were definitely the oyster and sashimi because these foods don't come cheap when you buy it in markets.
