We were a party of 6 for lunch on 29th Dec 2015. We arrived early and for 30mins, were the only diners here.
Ordered 2 set lunches for SGD32 which included starters ( soup / salad), main, drinks which we thought was good value. We also ordered main courses which was 1 for 1 ( i.e the cheaper main course was free )
Do note that ice/ tap water is not served here. You will have to order the bottled Evian water or soft drinks. However drinks are helpfully included in the set lunch.
Service was fine, but server could have highlighted the promotions ( 1 for 1, etc ) on offer and offered suggestions. He gave the impression that he really wanted to be somewhere else...
We were served drinks ( coke, organina and evian ) and starters came soon after.
Soup / starters came along and quality was very average. Unfortunately the soup tasted very bland and the bits of chicken had a grey look of re-heated leftovers. Chicken wings was well received and tasty.
Mains arrived and the Vegetarian Penne looked and tasted great. Fish and chips was also tasty, as was the grilled chicken. Terriyaki fish was essentially salmon with sauce with side of basmati rice, which was average. Portions were of a fair size and certainly sufficient.
My main gripe is with the dessert.
We ordered 3 ice creams (Hagen Daz) off the menu. There was no descriptions on the menu, and each portion was SGD6. I was surprised by the size of the portion and the lack of any effort in presentation. This knocked some points of the value chart of Cali....
We also ordered 2 coffees ( latte and freddo shakerato ) which tasted fine. Final damage was SGD120.
Overall, the taste, quality and portions were fair value. However the lack of option to order tap water and ice creams were fairly big disappointments. I would not make special effort to return, but would consider stopping by if in the area.
