My friend and I waited at the entrance to be seated, and realised that it was just a walk-in, find-the-waiter-to-get-a-seat process.
We ordered the Fragrant and Spicy Sea-bass, of mild spiciness level. The waitress (who cannot speak english, seemed to judge us quite a bit for being the only non-PRCs in the restaurant at that time) gave us a black face when we insisted that we would not be ordering any more side orders and repeated "Any more?" impatiently thrice. When the customer on my left (we were sitting so close, crammed against the wall) brushed her elbow against my chopstick, and it dropped, I requested for a new one -and that took a very long while to arrive. The only great servce was the provision of a tiny tissue paper box on our table. Plain water wasn't even served or provided -which was smart because their dishes are spicy and they could have earned a bit from the $2.40 for each can drink.
The fish meat was too fishy (this could be just a personal preference for my fish to not taste fishy) and the skin was bitter. (At some parts, though, it was slightly grilled, fragrant and the crispy. The rest was just bad.) It was a very painful experience. The sauce base, which consisted of mostly chilli flakes/oil, was very salty. I felt rather indignant about having to spend $0.80 (before GST and service charge) beyond the price of the fish, for my unimpressive bowl of rice.
Perhaps their other dishes are better. One thing for sure: paying for the fish was certainly not worth it. And another thing I'm quite certain about: I will never return to this place ever again.
