De Burg

AmericanAustralianWestern

De Burg is one of the latest entries of eateries to offer restaurant quality food in a kopitiam. Other than serving a wide range of its signature gourmet burgers, its menu also extends to chicken wings and vegetarian burgers.

Deburg Signature Burger $18.50. We decided to try their signature burger as it has everything from the beef patty to the portobello mushroom to the crispy bacon. For me, I feel that the determining factor of a tasty burger is the beef patty. The Deburg signature uses a 200g Australian grass-fed striploin patty which was quite juicy!
With that said, I would probably return back to Deburg to give their other burgers a try. Deburg burger also serve as a good alternative to the other choices in the coffee shop. And you can also add the toppings according to your own preference! I love to make my own style of burger which is like a stacking high burger with lots of different toppings in between!

If You Like Burgers You'll Love De Burg!

I'm not keen on the location... Parking can be a nightmare... when the weather is hot (it does happen ever so often here in Singapore), the coffeeshop can get warm and stuffy even with the fans at full crank... There is no 'proper drinks stall', and your options are overpriced and limited variety of soft-drinks and coffee (for a coffeeshop) or beer...

I don't like the place... I think I've mentioned this... Okay, now that we've got that out of the way..........

If you truly like and appreciate good burgers, then you'll love De Burg! Not only do they serve one the best burgers there are on offer in Singapore, I'd go as far as to say that they serve better burgers then some of the so-called-famous and popular ones in New York City...

De Burg burgers aren't exactly cheap, if it's cheap burgers you want, there are lots of options available all over the island... If you want an EXCELLENT burger, then De Burg is the place to go to!

4th time there

4th time there in two weeks. It's that good but today's visit wasn't very good. The burgers we order was barely warm. What a lazy cook. He was more keen to quickly Fnh cooking n play with his hp.

Unusual setting

The vibe and feel of the entire "coffeeshop" where DeBurg is located, was simply different. It is not the usual vibrant coffeeshop with a main drinks stall and many local dish stalls. Instead here, you have the stall selling german fare, a stall selling alcohol, another selling bubble tea/coffee of sorts... and the rest of the shop was cold.

Staff of DeBurg were sitting around without many customers to handle. Place your order and make payment at the counter. You will be called when your food is ready. Don't expect any form of service whatsoever here.

Well, I must say the burgers were worth the trip and wait! The meat, we ordered a variety from beef burgers to chicken, to pork, was well marinated and cooked through. The beef was done just right (medium well).

Loved the fries too.

Burgers here are so huge, we were wondering just how to start attacking the buns without having everything else spill out from every other corner possible. Burgers are best savoured when eaten with your bare hands huh?

Not a coffeeshop for a view. Though, its peaceful setting makes good for a night to chill.

The hit list!

Many have spoken about this place online. Yet I find only minimal reviews here. I find that a bit strange. Nonetheless, this is defintly one of the best burgers avaliable locally. The best I have had so far was in Queenstown, New Zealand suprisingly (ferg burger what else?).

The main attractions here are the burgers naturally. Sides are limited but thats not a problem. the patties are well seasoned and done perfectly. The whole ensemble just gels! I have only had the de burg & I'm not sick of it yet to move on to something else. It's a beautifully crafted 200g patty topped with a generous portion of REAL bacon & a portobello mushroom. What is there not to like???!!!

Admittedly the wait can be agonizing at times. But at least they tell you  the expected wait times before hand. The price point is also spot on. You get quality at very affordable prices. I guess their motto"burgers are not fast food" does shine.
