Beef Noodles ~ So good

03 Apr 2013
Was at the MBS DIng Tai Fung the other day (alone), tried out their Beef Noodels and every time I go DTF it became a must order dish for me.

Look at how the diners at the next table has their concoction of the chilli (Chilli, Vinegar and Soya,) and I too started my concoction of it and Woola. It wa so good I must have at least 2 servings of ginger (which is not too much) and I also place order for a least 1 more tim sum. Was very satisfied every time. It now become a must for my weekly visit.

      really good

      20 Jul 2012
I decided to have lunch at Din Tai Fung as I had a craving for Chinese food.

Once seated, I started with the xiao long bao ($7.30). Good as ever.

I then tried the drunken chicken ($7.50). The portion was small, but it was yet another well executed dish, with a good level of Chinese wine.

I also tried the Dan Dan Mian ($7). The noodles were quite springy and it blended well with the slightly spicy peanut based sauce.

When I looked across, I saw some Americans having this really spicy looking dumplings in red oil ($7.80) and it looked really appetising so I tried that. It was not as spicy as it looked, had quite a strong pork flavour and was tasty.

I also tried the fried rice with pork chop ($10.80). The rice was fried with egg and was quite wet. The pork chop though was wonderful, with a nice firm bite and not much fat in between the batter and the meat.

Finally for desserts, I had the red bean xiao long bao. It was a slightly sweet way to end a rather fantastic meal.

Service was also very efficient and yet polite in all the mess - a rarity in the Singapore dining scene.
