My first and second visit were wonderful. Food was great and nice ambience. However i was pretty disappointed on my 3rd visit and i was part of the team who strongly recommended this place. It was a farewell lunch for my colleague and we have close to 18 pax. Emailed our order beforehand and expect them to prepare earlier. On the actual day, the serving was slow and the waitress put up a black face throughout the session. Was told that they have only limited staff resources on that day. They were focusing on serving another table. Moral of the story, if you cant deliver then dont accept the order. Hopefully the management will look into it after reading this.
Cosy and quiet ambience good for occasions/small gatherings or even some after meal drinks/desserts. Food was reasonably good. Desserts were awesome! Service was good overall. Service staff have very good product knowledge as well.

The oyster was fresh, the jerusalem artichoke soup with truffle foam was divine, the tiger prawn linguine with crustacean stock was yummy, and the french toast is to die-for! All-in-all, a great place to have a drink, good food, into the wee hours at night. It is not cheap food though, but it’s quality you’re paying for, and I would happily visit again to try out some of the other dishes.
Agree with all earlier reviews. Great little secret (for now), great ambience, and the six of us had a lovely evening. What impressed the most, and what led to this review, was the manner in which the management dealt with a minor issue which had happened in the kitchen mid-evening. It did not affect any other diners, only our table. The minor issue (no idea of the details, it's not really important) meant that there was quite an unfortunate delay before we were served main courses. However, without prompting or any request from us, the management produced our bill at the end of the evening and completely surprised us by explaining that the food was complimentary and we would not be charged. Quite amazing and brilliantly handled.
Much appreciated Fordham & Grand. Great place, great food, deserves every success. We will be back!
I am not inclined to write positive reviews just to be politically correct but Fordham & Grand happens to be one of the best kept secrets in Singapore. Not flashy/PR-ed to death like c*** restaurants like Tippling Club and Bacchanalia, but earnest good food and a chillax atmosphere helmed by 2 owners who clearly love being in the food business. Decently priced, solid comfort food, personable service and comfortable (albeit a bit too dark at times!) decor has seen me and my friends return once a month to this cool joint. Singapore has seen a slew of overrated, overpriced, pretentious restaurants opening up in the past year or so.....and few will last till the end of 2014. Mainly because the owners/investors forget that once the hype dies down, people ultimately go to an f&b establishment for good food. And if you can't even deliver on that, there is only so much your decor/location/pr can take you. I hope for my sake, that F&G stays the distance, it is hard to find owner-led and run establishments that meet the mark and maintain food and service standards. Kudos to the F&G team, great food, team and a true hidden gem. (literally...as you have to look hard to find their main door!)
