Expensive, small portions, so-so service.
04 Sep 2012I went here again for a 2nd time after writing the review in my blog. After that, I would like to "not recommend" this place due to terrible prices, extremely small portions and lousy service. Lousy service meaning the workers look so bored with no smile whatsoever. As if it was a total chore walking to my table to take my order.

A letter to the Management
24 Jul 2012Hi,
We visited your outlet at Jalan Wangi on 22 July (Sun). The food was overall tasty but your service level at the outlet is much left to be desired.
1) My dad ordered a can of soft drink and your menu stated as Canned Drink. Your staff poured a glass and kept the rest of the drink back into the fridge. May I know if this is your company policy? Your staff told us that the photo is for illustrative purpose only. May I know what are you going to do with the rest of the 1/4 drink? Serve to the next customer who order the same variety of drink?
2) When we demanded for the balance back, your staff still had the guts to gossip behind our back. This aunty even told the kitchen staff that we refuse to believe her that it is a glass and that this happen because we 'caught' them keeping the can back into the fridge. Come on, is this the way your treat your customer? There were 11 of us and we spend a good $156 on that dinner.
3) I have done a search online and all Red Ruby recipes is made from water chestnut. Yours is not, it is made from turnip. How could this happen? We felt really cheated.
Lastly, the reason why we were there was because my dad saw your restaurant when he was packing dinner from the ever trustworthy coffee shop next door. He order a slice of Toufu ($5.50) home and asked for the sauce to be put seperately. Your staff gave him the sauce in a typical miserable small container that those fish head noodle stall use to put soya sauce and chili.
Although the food is quite tasty, but given that the portion is small and the service level is terrible. I am not sure if we will be back. I do hope to hear from you and hope to get some explanation. Thank you.
PS: I have emailed the resturant too. See if they reply, super lousy service. Served us tom yum soup and no bowls given!!!

Disappointing, food court @ 313 n Cine is way better
27 Nov 2011Just came back from Sakon Thai, tot it was promising with all the crowd, and newpaper cutting citing Top Chefs from Thailand etc, but when the food came, jus disappointing, not worth it at all.. jus plenty of spice from chili, and tt's it. Can't taste much, and the pineapple rice is jus crazy, $5.50 for a small portion (chick rice size), in it, you get raisins, pineapple and chicken bits so small that it's even smaller than your fingernail, and 2 pcs of shrimp.
The steamed prawn is tasteless.. the steamed tapioca $3.50.. and again it's not the chunky type u'd expect, but it's diced to 2-5cm bits spread over a banana shaped bowl. Blackpepper beef, interestingly NO black pepper taste.. just black sauce. Mango Salad, you can't taste the sourness from the green mango you'd expect, but just some watery sauce that's spicy. Only saving grace? maybe the fried whole garupa.
Lemongrass drink $2.50.. 4get it.. more diluted than anything.
Best bet thai food for much less, go 313 somerset's food court and cinelesisure's food court.. easily 7/10!
oh and they actually served us fish, veg, thai salad, w/o any rice. n don't be fooled by mussel with broccoli, by broccoli it's only a few thin individual branches.
