Excellent

This restaurant has ambiance, a discerning menu, acceptable prices for the excellent quality. I found the service ok, but could improve a bit if waiters would act a bit more like advisors, rather than simple order takers. A high note for the absence of loud music! Finally a place that understands that customers want, wish, should interact during their dinner time instead of listening to the latest commercial drum beat and stare into little screens.

Was ard the Newton area and recalled the cosy place where I had my first experience of Sous vide cooking. Decided to head down again since I was withy dearie who had heard me rave abt it previously but never had the chance to try their food. My dearie, like a good Singaporean foodie, googled Skyve to check the out the reviews and was surprised by the 2 recent reviews needling Skyve for it's poor quality of food and even poorer service. Despite the reviews, we decided to "take a gamble" and check it out again. Thankfully the gamble paid off. :) We didn't make a reservation but had a warm welcome by the wait staff. After having our pick of the sitting area, we settled for an order of truffles fries, salad as well as the Sous Vide Poulet. The generous portion of truffle fries, which came in a dim sum holder, was fragrant, pipping hot and stayed crispy till the end. The salad, with an assortment of greens, was topped with prosciutto ham, pine nuts and almonds. A tasty starter! Next came our Sous vide Poulet with roasted veges which didnt disappoint; tender drumstick with beautifully roasted root vegs and silky smooth and buttery mash. Through out our meal, the wait staff was more than helpful, topping up our icE water frequently and even offering to split our Sous vide Poulet onto individual dishe's when they realized we were sharing. We finished off our meal with a camomile creme Brûlée with lychee sorbet that in the words of my dearie was "very nice without being cloyingly sweet" Great food, great service and good music - I'd definitely be back!

Have fun with food as foreplay, and these items are easily bought at supermarkets. Just be mindful of allergies (gas and rashes are no fun) and be prepared to sacrifice the sheets
