The place was packed when we arrived, but we managed to get a seat pretty quicky (5mins wait by the bar); we were seated right infront of the stage which had the music a little too loud. Seats were high stools and a little uncomfortable.
The ordering system is cool. Every table is equipped with an ipad on which orders are made. System is neat and uncluttered.
Half & Half Pizza (Meats Lovers + Smoked Duck) ($21)
Both were delicious. Crust was perfectly thin and chewy. Sauces and cheeses were flavorful. Sliced into little rectangles for your convenience. The downside is the stingy amount of meat given on both pizzas.
Groundzero was playing. Great band and impressive vocals. Good at entertaining and stirring up the crowd creating afriendly atmosphere.
After ordering our Happy Hour drinks here, we started with the food. The Crab and Prawn Bisque was served first - crustacean of creme prawn and chunks of crabmeat, with drizzles of Brandy and served with a slice of garlic bread. It was piping hot, thick and totally delicious. The crab bits within the soup were silky smooth, and the prawns were fresh and springy in texture. Every sip was a treat. Our Roasted Duck Pizza came next - thin crusts with roasted duck breast, sauteed shitake mushroom with hoisin sauce, topped with crispy popiah skin and mozarella cheese. The overall taste was a savoury blanket of scrumtiousness, made more so by the crispy crust, however the duck meat was hardly detectable. The spread of sauce made the pizza a tad too sweet after a while, so it is advisable to finish it ASAP upon being served. Finally, the Seafood Risotto - arborio rice cooked with prawns, scallops and crabmeat and its a very flavorful seafood broth. The scallops and prawns were both fresh, bouncy in texture and tasty. The rice, infused with the richness of seafood gravy, was, needless to say, spoonfuls of heaven. Nice Ambience with Good Food, we order pizza, top shell, buffalo wings and fries together with some drinks.
I love their snowball, very delicious. There is live band that sing chinese and english songs. They allow customer to dedicate song too.
The food was rather good and the drinks were good too. However what turned me off was that the food was expensive. and even thou it was happy hour 6-9pm. the happy hours werent so "happy". it was still expensive with the combos. furthermore, the water tasted weird and it was just plain tap water, no iced water at all. kudos to the management for coming up with not only expensive combos but stupid house rules too. like- everyone must have a drink. it only gets better - no credit card discounts no membership discounts. or anything.even worse, the band only came on late at 9pm. what was worst was that they were so amazingly efficient at chasing people away and clearing the tables because they needed the tables for the other customers - this place may be new and by timbre but trust me - it wont last. - not with the horrible management.
Came here with a few female colleagues for a catch up session upon one of them's recommendation for the band and food.
This place is pretty new and actually operates under the timbre group. Concept is abit different because they feature bands who sings chinese songs! But they are rather good though!
Anyway back to the food. I think it wasnt quite worth it.. we order a pizza combo that comes with one full sized pizza and 2 beers, one plate of grilled wings and seriously felt it wasnt enough.. in the end we ordered this portobello mushroom thing which we had at first thought were small fired portobellos but turned out to be 2 huge ones... my lovely colleague nicely cut it up into 8 parts so that we can eat it bite-sized. Then we also ordered fries so that we could feel full..On top of this was one mroe order of stout and 2 glass of white wine.
I think the best of the lot was the portobello mushroom but somehow i think it didnt really fit the place.. i mean.. u cant really eat this kind of thing in a bar setting.. not very sharing-friendly... but it was indeed very tasty! The rest were sadly quite lacklustre.. and the bill came up to $125 and its during happy hours somemore..
I will mayb be back for drinks (white house wine was surprisingly good!) but not for food at the moment..
