Working in Chinatown, it was great news to find a place with decent coffee within a short walk of the office.
First couple of tries, great.
However, yesterday was a big fail.
First of all I placed my order for takeaway and was asked to take a seat. I waited a while then saw that others who came after me were being served so I went up to the counter to remind them I was waiting. They seemed to have missed my order in the queue. It was busy, so understood, but still this needs to be addressed by the otherwise polite staff.
When I did get my coffee (hot), it was given to me in a plastic cup, the type used at juice stalls. I asked them why not a paper cup for hot drinks, as they usually serve and they said they had run out. This meant I paid $6.20 for a coffee (quite pricey) served in a plastic cup that was melting and bendy by the time I got back to my desk. Needless to say I did not enjoy the coffee at all.
Another tip - if you are a coffee bar offering takeaway, then get enough paper cups OR warn people before you take the order that you only have plastic cups.
A shame as I am now craving a coffee at work but hesitant to go back there. Time to find a new coffee place...
