Good Catch Up Place For Food and Drinks

Verve Pizza Bar, located on the banks of the Marina Bay waterfront, is an ideal place for a quick catch up. Whilst the shop front looks like a bar, a recent visit during one hot afternoon showed a rather boisterous lunch crowd - and one should not be surprised after trying their food.

I had the Verve pizza, which had a good mix of salami and pork slices with artichoke that provides a slight vinaigrette finish.

From the pasta menu I tried the Seafood Nero - a quid ink linguine with mussels squid and prawns tossed in crab meat. I also tried the truffle pasta in which the power of the cream sauce empowered any truffle essence that may have been used.

All in all though, I must say that I was impressed with the food. I came in without expecting much from the bar front but left satisfied. Service was friendly, although it was quite difficult getting the attention of wait staff at times.

The staff service was really bad, saved for one older man who is more responsive.

Secondly It used to be an italian restuarant but now they serve fish and chips and coq au vin and cald "homemade pasta" including penne . really ?

their pricing is expensive and with those prices I can easily get real authentic italian food and not in a restaurant with split personality trying to capture the market by offering everything yet measures up to none of those who truly specialises

saving grace ? Nice location and chilled out in the evening . We were also served drinking water unlike other reviews.

I dont usually write reviews, this is the first time.
Want to say the plus first,
So, its a nice cozy place especially if weather is nice,
High class ambient. The tables and utensils, and the variety om the menu is good too! Went there with colleagues to have lunch on her birthday!
#The food
Food is good, nothing spectacular about it, meets whatever you expect in an italian gourmet dish.
#the value
Since its "gourmet" they say so yes its expensive. I think I can make the same gourmet with the amount I paid to feed 10 people. Yes, I cook thats why I know :-)
#the service
Ok, I think in every restaurant this is crucial, and most restaurant here in singapore lack this. I guess its their culture to lack cust. Service. So they attempted to serve us food we didnt ordered, they dont serve water. I didnt know I at first, so I called a waiters attention showing my glass, softly saying, "can I get water please?" He approached me with a displeased face, not sure if it was the clothes im wearing on a friday I wear T's and jeans, he said, we dont serve water. I said ok then give something like water, he asked still or sparkling, I said still. Not sure what that means, and he gave me a bottle of naturale.. what I didnt like was his displeased face.. I was looking at him serving other guests not showing that face so I felt it was stereotypical.  Nevertheless I think as a customer service agent, you should smile at people, even if its fake. Just helps the entire experience flourish see. :-) and no im not caucasian lol
