sirr... maaam... try our bppffet set meeeaal

16 May 2011
to be honest, i've been shunning this outlet for the longest time, bcos i felt it was comical for a staff with thick pinay accent to be greeting passers-by, and to a certain extent is quite a turn off.

it was a rainy day, so my makan kaki & i decided to play deaf to give it a shot. browsing at the menu, we thought we were about to be sliced & julianed, thinking that the prices were not quite pocket friendly. the obvious choice for us, was definitely the buffet, and a pot of chrysanthemum (free flow). soup base we chose: duck soup (for myself) & spicy "ma-la" (for my kaki).

we helped ourselves to a ticking frenzy on the buffet checklist, thinking they would serve the dishes bit by bit. while waiting, the tea was served, along with a bowl of stir fried offcuts w/ dried chilis. while we were tossing & digging into the entré, the soup arrived. moments later, lo & behold, the dishes arrived (all at once) and we had to stack pyramids on the tiny 2 seater table, they utilized the side extension drawer as well. the neighboring diners looked at us, as if we were over stayers for the chinese ghost month.

like hungry vikings, we couldnt be bothered with the eyes staring, within the hour, we cleared everything that was served, and commenced a 2nd round of ticking on the buffet menu. attracting another round of stares.

all in all, we tried to stretch the limits of our guts in an attempt to make the monies worth. despite the 2nd helping, it was still a long shot from breaking even.

p.s.: the soup base in my opinion was a little too salty. unless u're keen to be a candidate for kidney transplant, by all means, help yourself with the soup.

I also recommend this place for:

Buffet, Lunch, Dinner, Business Dining, Boys Night Out, Girls Night Out, After Work, Quiet, Vibrant/Noisy, People Watching
