| Hi-tea
Was looking for a quiet, not crowded hi-tea place in the area of Marina on NYE. Guess hotel hi-tea lounge was the best bet.
Indeed, it was quiet and conducive for catching up with a bunch of frens who hardly met. Nice cosy sofas overlooking the Marina Bay, though the view was kinda blocked by trees and the floating platform.
Foodwise, the selection wasn't really spectacular. But the quality of food was quite satisfactory. I like the scones that come with a wide selection of cream, butter and jams to go with it. The selection of tea was quite good as well, with more than 20 teas to choose from.
My displeasure was on the slow services rendered. After serving our coffee, it took another half an hour to serve the hot milk for the coffee. The sashimi didn't come together with wasabi and it took another 20mins for them to serve the wasabi. Can't explain the slow services when there's only 5 or 6 tables of diners, but give them credit for the friendly service nonetheless.
Weekday hi-tea is $24++ per pax. A place worth to visit if you wish to have cosy place to chill-out with friends. |
