| 2 Months Overdue
First of All. Thank you to all the lovely indivuduals for taking time off to celebrate my birthday with me. It was a great surprise to see you all there and I really enjoyed my time minus the one lamppost who just had to tag along(i apologise for that).
Now due to Timbre screwing up the reservations thingy(like CG mentiond) we had my birthday celebs at Barfly. Good idea since housepours n martinis n stuff were 1 for one. only i had just 2 drinks(since i gota work the nxt day). Tried the Aprodisiac and Melontini. The first being the better one.
Was tempted to order fish n chips from the bar menu but got a scolding for that so settled on the Tenderloin while my fren had the lamb rack. Tenderloin was erm ok. Asked for medium rare but got medium so abit on the hard side. Taste wise abit bland actually. Flavours werent really retained in the dish. The Lamb however was juicy, didnt have that lamby taste and was flavourful. Yes i ended up exchangin with my fren. I did like the potato gratin like thingy. but a bit small though.
Got a surprise Tiramisu cake which although again small was really really nice. Doesnt look like tiramisu at all( probably got private supplier) and tasted so good i was half asking if i should offer to the rest or not(of cos i did lah).
after 9 champange is free flow for ladies but i didnt drink much. Was too full of happiness(esp when i saw my present) and was enjoying the company too much.
Loved the ambience and the decor. Very chic and i will definitely come back to sit at the nice sofa with the dangly thingys. They have live dj and performances i think. Must check it out.
Service was great. The staff were attentive and obliging(taking pics for us and singing for me). Great Job ('',)
Thank you again guys. My 22nd birthday is officially the best birthday EVERR..And most people say that the 21st is the best. Well not for me(ok both are tied cos my bf would freak if i said my 21st wasnt good) |

| More of a Bar than anything else....
Tables were designed for drinks rather than food. Chairs were short and terribly uncomfortable for me. Music is too loud to dine "properly". Somehow, main courses were more respectable (surprisingly) than the bar food... French fries were terrible, better off with MacDonald. The problem is paying $20/30+ for mains and eating at the "cafe" table is just not my idea of good dinning comfort.
This place is designed for drinking and chilling rather than dinner with friends so take your pick of the Clarke Quay restaurants and hop over for drinks later if you are so inclined. |

| Better As A Drink Place
I have been here twice, once pretty late to have a couple of drinks and once to have dinner. Until my recent dining experience, I did not know that Barfly served restaurant quality food.
So here we were, a bunch of hungry-people celebrating Macadamia Naddz's birthday. Appetisers to share included onion rings and fries, typical bar food that is nothing much to shout about.
For my main course I tried the Beef Cheek. This is the third beef cheek I recall having in Singapore and I enjoyed it. The beef was soft and melted in my mouth.
I also managed to "steal" a juicy scallop off my friend's plate and that too was wonderful as the huge scallop had a nice bouncy and juicy feel to it that I could not bare to end this short but tasty experience by consuming the scallop.
Drinks were "one-for-one" so it made it made house pours very affordable. Now comes my little gripe. As the night progressed, the house music started getting louder and louder during intervals of an estimated fifteen minutes and it was not easy for the ears to handle. I never realised this in my first experience here because I came in when the music was loud and was ready for a party, but being a diner this music change gave me a totally different experience since my ears were accustomed to the soft music before the sudden outburst when it was time to end the meal and start the partying. The move in the change of music was a little too sudden for my liking.
The other thing that I did not like was that my long legs could not adjust to the short-legged chairs, making me feel a little uncomfortable at times. Service was efficient but tended to be a little intrusive.
In conclusion, while the food is good, I would still dine at a different place before coming here for drinks. |

| 2nd time here!
1st time here was having cocktails with friends. Ambience is nice.
Another Restaurant cum Bar type. Hope to come 2nd time for the food...
Finally waited so long for 2nd time here. Ambience is nice, quiet, not alot of people on a Saturday night. About 3 to 4 tables at 8pm. Maybe the night is still young.
Service is great but when it comes to the main dish... all points given are all deducted. Food was not to our expectation. He only eat a little and left alot, Red Snapper ... yuck!
I thought I could bring him to a nice place with nice food for our anniversary... but.... sigh.. |

| Barfly
Nice ambience and good food. The servers were friendly and helpful too. The restaurant serves a good combination of Asian and Western food in "just-nice" portions.
The servers were knowledgeable with the wide variety of drinks available and made recommendations on drinks for customers. They are also quick to advise on the types of promotions going on and made recommendations accordingly. |
