Hmmm. Nice place to dine in.

Hello readers.

Just wanna let you guys know that Barpaza is a reccomanded place to dine in. To have lunch and have friends birthdays celebration. I usually go there thrice a month. The pizzas are crispy and thin crust. The hot dog buns are really hot and delicious. It' is very cosy there, and the staff is friendly, but still need improvement. Lastly, if you want to find a place to chill go there. Trust me, is a very good place to chat and chill with your friends.

The worse service and food ever

I ordered a Penne Carbonara for lunch with some friends. When i got tasted it, it tasted weird and rancid like white sauce god bad. When i pointed this to the waitress she told be that's how they cooked it. When i insisted that it might have gone bad, she took it back and said she will get a fresh one soon.

After waiting for 25 min while everyone else had finished their food I walked to the counter to pay. I told the manager that we have to leave as its a working day and offered to pay his immediate reaction was exactly this "Its not my fault. We have a lot of people." He then told me that the delay is because i sent my dish back and insisted that i caused the delay.

He did eventually removed my dish from the bill and we paid the balance.

Defiantly not the place i am ever going back to.

quite good food terrible service

the food is good for the price you pay however the service is one of the worst in Singapore. the slowness of stuff beyond the limits, you could wait 30 minutes just to place an order....waiters will ignore you even if they see you are calling them. so overall recommendation is avoid the place, nearby restaurants such as Riccotti feature a way better service with comparable food quality and prices.

Nice place for Lunch - 1 pizza/pasta free for 1 pizza/pasta

Ambience/Setting

I always sit outside on those high tables where I can enjoy the sun and watch people walking in the street. Not enough light inside so we never go inside, and tables are small.Sometimes they put some good jazzy lounge music but somehow I felt they recently stopped to do it.

Food & Beverage

Its quite simple we always take 2 pizzas and 2 Fresh Hoogaarden Pints. They recently changed their menu and I felt there was less choice which we regreted. the 4 seasons and the duck pizzas are good. They could improve a bit the dough, its too slim.

Value

Value is average, not cheap but not that expensive, but thanks to the promo! 2 Hoogarden for 20SGD and 2 pizzas for the price of 1 pizza, about 19SGD.

Service

The service is good. Sometimes a bit slow but nothing particular that I would specify as a strong negative.

what more can you expect?

Barpazza specialises in Fusion Cuisine, especially the fusion of their pizzas and pastas. They're rather new and is quite popular among the lunch crowd for those working near China Square. Currently, the 1 for 1 promotion for pizzas and pastas are a good catch to lure you there for a try! They've their hits and miss items on the menu.

We ordered the Carbonara Redux ($17) which was one of the best carbonara pasta that I've tried. The bacon was crispy with chewy bites of the cheese. There isn't a need to add additional cheese flakes on top of the pasta.

The tomato based pasta tossed with mussels was nomal. Nothing really fancy about this dish.

Next was the Pollo Cremoso ($15.90) is Cheese infused cream sauce with chicken chunks and parsely. The cream sauce is think enough and done just right. I think this is the only dish we've tried that isn't way too salty.

The Morning After Pizza is topped with strips of bacon and cheese and very salty as well. I needed the pizza with Tabasco sauce. The pizza dough is way too thick as I love my pizzas done with crispy thin crust.

The overall rating of the food here is only 6/10. Most of the dishes are way too salty and they do not serve ice water here unless you order a drink and thumbs down for the service. Without the 1 for 1 promotion, please go somewhere else for better food unles you have cravings for Carbonara which is the only best thing on the menu.

The total bill came up to $55 for 3 pastas, 1 pizza and 2 ice teas.
