Just a short drive through Sentosa’s lush greeneries, guests have often been engulfed with awe as the roads and trees give way to the majestic splendour of Capella. Bob’s Bar is no different; blending into the resort’s colonial charm, the bar offers a tropical respite while evoking a classy experience.

Worth the drive

We wanted a place where we didn't have to jostle for tables on a Saturday night. Basically, such a place doesn't exist unless it was: New and not yet well-known, and inaccessible as hell. Capella popped into mind, and a quick search on our trusty iphones resulted in this fabulous find.

Bob's Bar boasts a great view overlooking the sea beyond the hotel's infinity pools. The daybeds were great for chilling out and the staff very helpfully brought the portable fans closer to us when we complained it was warm.

Staff were knowledgeable and articulate, and were more than happy to engage in a bit of chit chat. You get the sense that they enjoy their work and that liveliness bounced off them to make us feel really welcomed.

I wanted to go for my regular Bombay Sapphire & Tonic but the staff recommended I try Tanqueray which he claims is his favorite, and so I did. Good choice! The champagne cocktails were great as well.

I'll go back to check out the wine list soon.

Catch a beautiful sunset here as you lounge at the sheltered terrace overlooking the hotel's pools. With a wide variety of drinks not for faint hearted, I would recommend going for the Cumquat Sidecar which is a potent combo of cognac, cointreau, lemon juice and marmalade.

Stopped here for a pre-dinner drink on our way to dinner at Cassia. Turned out to be a great decision, the cocktails were very high quality. The staff were very courteous. The drinks came with some very nice snacks which we appreciated.

The bar itself has a nice view over the sea and has some cool bed style lounges for couples.

Only complaint was how the bar seemed to capture no breeze (they did put out a lot of fans though).
