6 December 2007 : RL & I decided to come here for dinner. When we arrived at around 7pm, there was no queue to order food.(i guess we were fortunate because 20 minutes later... a queue started forming) There were people feeding on botak jones dishes at almost all the tables.
We ordered :
[JC] : Rosemary Lamb Chop ($11.50)
[RL] : Fish & Chips ($6.50)
TOTAL = $18.00
Both main dishes came with a
very generous serving of 2 side dishes (chips & coleslaw). My lamb chops came with some greens(tomato & lettuce), mint sauce and a rather buttery mushroom sauce. I would have preferred if they put some lamb stock and a dash of wine into the sauce.(just my personal preference). The lamb chop were ok... i could not detect the taste of rosemary at all... The lamb chops were soft and tender and not salty at all. I requested for my chips sans the chilli powder. They were piping hot and crispy..just the way i like it. I enjoyed the coleslaw very much too. I tried some of RL's fish & chips... the fish was crispy and tasty... not bad at all.
Ambience : Well this is a coffee shop... if you are a peasant like me, this is a perfectly good place to fill up your hungry tummy. Botak Jones was playing "THE POLICE" cd on speakers and the music filled the coffee shop.
My revisit to botak jones was a good one - i certainly liked the food this time. I plan to try Brewski Jones one day after work at the sweatshop.
