| hmm...
I finally got the chance to try their cajun chicken after hearing one of my friend raving about it a few months back. She visits this branch every week for 1 or 2 months.
The chicken was not as nice as I expected. The size of chicken was reasonable but it does not look very appetizing even with the cheese and the cajun sauce on top. Tastewise, it was not bad. The meat was quite well-marinated and pretty tender.
However, the side dishes were not that good. I chose the fries and the broccoli. The portion of fries was miserable. It did not come piping hot and the fries were all small in size, which resulted in them being too crispy and hard. They were not the usual large, fluffy crinkle-cut fries that I like. The broccoli were swimming in butter, which kind of put me off. But it was not that bad as they were not those very soft, airplane veg. |

| Good food and even better service
I've been to the Depot Rd Botak Jones a few times and the staff are always so nice and friendly. The smile a lot and don't look so sian doing their work, serving food, taking orders etc.
We were there for dinner today and it started raining heavily. Two staff offered to walk us to our cars with umbrellas and a third just came without asking as there were three of us and we wouldn't all fit under one umbrella. In the end, all three of us had one staff each sheltering us. I don;t think you'd find this kind of care and concern from any service staff in S'pore with the exception of paid bus boys in hotel restaurants serving the rich clientele. We were just your casual hawker centre patrons and really didn't expect the staff to go out of their way to ensure our evening wasn't spoilt by the rain.
Food wise, this place never disappoints. My favourite is the Botak Jones burger with cheese and mushrooms. 'Nuff said. |

| Silence of the Botak Lambs
Dedicated to CG
(sing to Hotel California tune)
On a dark narrow one-way
cool air in my head
hungry feeling of my fat self
rising up through my lungs
up ahead in the distance, i saw a Botak Jones light
My stomach grew hungrier and my pace was quicker
I had to stop for dinner
There she stood at counter
I saw the yummy lamb chops
And I was thinking to myself
this could taste like heaven or this could taste like hell
Then i paid for my order and she showed me my table
There was mint sauce when the lamb chops came
I thought I heard them say
Welcome to the Botak Jones outlet
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
Plenty of Western at the Botak Jones @ Depot
Any time of year, good American diner here
*************
not bad

| BJs are for the hunger deprived...and Mas Selamat for now
Dedicated to Mas Selamat (you may be hungry bro..this is a good place to visit)
and...dedicated to PG
I love Depot Road...it's a little sanctuary for me, where i grew up nearby...i used to go running in the morning. Fast forward a decade...i take bus service 195 there now...
A kopitiam...is but a kopitiam. Quiet. Peaceful. Put a Botak Jones there...and you get thriving business if not a headache at least.
If you guys like American Food...but hate prices at the likes of The American Club, Seah Street Deli or even Billy Bombers...get yourself down to BJ then instead.
Well S$40 on 4 persons seems a good way to spend money. Big servings, free sauces.
We had 2 single burgers...chicken wings...cheese fries...and the chilli dawg...the dawg is terribly long...11 inches at least
Mas Selamat would love this place...quiet, secluded, cheap and big servings...and don't worry about being near CMPB. The most safest place is always the most dangerous too...
