Beer
Bottles & Taps have a nice selection of bottled beers (lagers and ale) such as Brewdog, Hobgoblin, St. Bernardus and many European and American craft beer. Having a sweet tooth! Pop by and grab a bottle of ciders and fruit beer.

great cozy pub in the neighbourhood!

This is a great little pub just off Upper Serangoon Road right between Kovan and Serangoon MRT stations. They specialize in craft beer in a part of town where such a creature is hard to find. It just so happens to be my neighborhood; so SCORE! (Finally.) I just stopped in for a quick one (maybe two, hehe) and was very happy with what I found in the cooler. Don't come here looking for a Carlsberg. They only have the house beer:  lager and many other European and American bottled craft beers. Of course, they have a number of ciders and wines, if you're into that sort of thing. It has two levels with plenty of seating and mellow vibe, perfect for conversations over beer. It was really surprising that they have a gaming centre on the second level and even a business centre which is really uncommon in singapore pubs. They have a full menu in addition to bar bites, although I can't vouch for the food yet. I'll update later.

Have not visited the place for about a year and was surprised that is has moved.... just 2 units away.

The place was very different from my last visit, it was so much more spacious than the previous unit and you have to check out their 2nd floor!

Very exciting place, full of surprice

I totally want to like this place. This bar has an excellent selection of beers, at acceptable prices. But the ambiance just flat out sucks. I've been there a few times now, and they never fail to play Kiss 92 on the radio, which any foreigner knows only plays 10-12 songs on repeat, 10 of which are from the late 80s and early 90s. The staff is the real problem.

First there was a guy handing out flyers outside of NEX mall, saying this place had a re-grand opening with a special of 1 for 1 german larger pints all night long. Upon getting there the bartender says that was a mis-print and its not all night long, but one for one serving. (which if you look at the flyer, is clear as day its all night long). But whatever, mistakes happen, my date and I let it go and carry on.

I decided to 'check in' on yelp the evening I was there and the app said Free Premium German Larger with check in. I thought to myself 'awesome' since the promption we were there for was clearly not happening, and promptly showed it to the girl behind the bar.  The bartender didn't believe it was real and called her partner/boss to confirm its legitimacy in front of me. Afterwards she said someone must of 'hacked' their system and done that as a joke (I'm not making this up), but she'd honor the offer all the same (so nice of her...cough cough). The food there is fine. Its whatever you buy at a super market and heat up in a toaster oven. No difference. Again I want to like this place, but between the staff looking at you annoyed as you ask for a beer, taking them away from facebook while behind the bar, the S***** music and supermarket food, its a mixed bag at best.   Oh and dont go by the times listed as open. Call ahead. There have been a few times they were listed as open, only to be closed and open later by 1 to 2 hours.
