Well, I was "pang seh"-ed by another restaurant for my gf's birthday and was frantically searching for a new place to go to celebrate her special day. Needed somewhere nice and quiet (which was gauranteed by the other restaurant... Up to lunch time on the actual day) and a colleague suggested we head to Breeze@Scarlet Hotel.

    Ambience:
The restaurant was at the top of the hotel, and since it was a low level hotel, there wasn't much breeze coming in from the wind; only from the fans. Nontheless, its a good thing as nothing's flying all over the place. lol! The music was nice and fitting. Easy smooth jazz playing. It was also peaceful and quiet. Which was perfect for the occassion.

    Food & Beverage:
Now we come to the tummy filling part. We went for just 2-courses plus a drink. Thank goodness we did that. The servings were HUGE! Especially for the mains. lol! Ok, so on with the food.

    Starters:
    Bruschetta with Tuna Tartare (7/10)
We were told that the serving would be barely enough for 2 persons. Nontheless, we just went ahead as we didn't really want anything too filling for starters. I don't know if it's because we said we wanted to share, but the serving was in fact big enough for two people to share as starters. The tuna was refreshing and the bread cruncy. The tomato paste, I feel, was a bit too strong that it diluted the taste of the tuna a bit. Nontheless, since the gf feels its just nice as she doesnt really fancy raw fish too much. Overall, it was good.

    Mains:
Rack of Lamb - Well Done (8/10)
I'm quite happy with the lamb. I asked the serving size since it was not stated. Waiter told me that it had 3 pieces. I was a bit conused as usually it will be told in terms of weight but nontheless, I gave it a go-ahead. The serving was big enough to actually share with my gf. lol!

The lamb that was served was quite nicely done. Texture wise, it was palateable. Slightly bordering on tough but stil tender enough to be said it was tender. The taste was something that hooked me. I'm not a fan of strong taste for my lamb, and hence the request for well done. The sauce managed to hide the taste enough to tell you its lamb without being too strong on your tastebuds. Well done indeed. Satisfied.

    Seafood Caserole (8/10)
The first thing my gf said after the waiter left us was "So big ah?!". And big it was, indeed! The caserole sauce was not that fantastic, I feel. The taste didn't really seep into the seafood much. There was a tinge of the caserole sauce to remind us what the dish is. I felt that it was ok as the seafood taste was still there and not overwhelmed too much by the strong ingredients present in the caserole sauce. Honestly, the serving size is really huge. Value for money indeed.

    Drinks:
    Mocktails (6/10)
We took a couple of mocktails. Honestly, they were forgetable. Tasted better ones. Period.

    Service:
The main decider for me is usually the service. There isn't much service here to be honest. If you're here for a private meal with no interuptions, this is the place for you. If you expect prompt service with a waitier in sight all the time, then you'll be disappointed. However, this was very fitting to our requirements for that occassion, so I'm satisfied.

One thing I would say about their service as well is that they were earnest and willing to serve. And frthermore, their response to my last min reservations was something that quite impressed me. Even allowed us to change seats to a more private one when we requested.

Must tries: Seafood Caserole, Lamb Rack

For 6 person we spend $534, for cold food. But I have to admit is a very nice place to chill out and relax. The only good thing I can say is that the Services and the bar Mojitos were great.

my husband and I went to Breeze for a dinner... We ordered the Grilled PLATTER for 2...the food was actually a bit cold when it arrived on our table.Other than that, it was actually quite nice and good very filling actually. In fact both of us were so full that we could not eat anymore desserts..

as for the view, it is just OK... In fact, we cannot see much other than the tall buildings beside the hotel...

as for the service, the waitresses are all very helpful and nice... GOOD!

F/B: Had the Seafood Platter for two. The seafoods are fresh served on ice. Crab, mussels, clams, prawn, salmon, tuna etc.

Ambience: Fabulous! Very good view of Chinatown. There isn't much fine dining places with views on higher ground. I'm impressed with this one.

Value: It's expensive. $98 for the seafood platter. I'm not even 7 points full, if not because of my birthday cake (Cakes not included). Haha.

Service: Staffs are friendly and helpful. Better than those chinese servers at Majestic Bar. Thumbs up for them!

Think a few years ago, this was one of the first rooftop bars in Singapore... pretty cool because it was small and cosy, and you could see the old places of Chinatown from where you were sitting... but I remember the drinks being very watered down!
