Dim Sum on the go!

We were at Chinatown and walked around the food centre of People Park Centre.   We came across this stall which is located along the outer corridor of the food centre, facing OG Department Store.   There was a constant stream of people placing their orders and we joined the queue, as my kid wanted to eat the egg tart.   We bought the following: - Lor Mai Kai (Glutinous rice with chicken): The lor mai kai has chicken instead of pork. What’s interesting is that they also included slices of chestnuts in the chicken along with scallions. The chestnuts gave a bit of crunch to each mouthful. It comes in a plastic container that can be easily reheated in a microwave or tipped out into a bowl to be steamed. Not bad!   - Egg Tart: Round egg tarts. The custard is nice and soft, and not overly sweet. Its good!   - Malay Cake: Steamed cup cake, that has been prepared with Gula Melaka (Sweet Palm sugar). The taste is mildly sweet and I could taste traces of sugar bits in it, which was a nice surprise.   - ‘Char Siew Soh’: Baked char siew pastry. Nice rectangular pastry with decent char siew pieces in it.     A great place to order dim sum and eat it while on the go.   They are also related to the stall next to it, that sells roast duck, which is also good.   Try it!
