I came to this joint last year with some colleagues after hearing about this cafe c** pub eatery from a close friend. Tried some of their food (can't remember what items we tried) and it were quite good. This time I brought my family here.
I was surprised to hear from the service crew that they are having live crab yesterday as I thought they only serve 小炒 and western food, so I decided to give it a try. My family and I were surprised the 2nd time (in a space of 1 minute) when the crew bought out a huge live kicking crab and asked how we would like to cook it. We decided to go with our family favourite: Chilli Crab and hell yeah, it was really nice! The crab was fresh and meaty, the sauce was delicious and generous. My family and I had 30 馒头 just for this dish.
I also ordered their Fish Maw Soup, Broccoli Scallops and Hotplate Spaghetti with Chicken Chop as my boys love western food. Especially chicken chop.
I could smell the aroma of the hotplate chicken chop from afar, as it came to our table on a real hot sizzling metal plate and the sauce was sizzling in the hotplate, therefore produced a fantastic aroma of smoke from their kitchen to our table. My boys were all excited by then. The service crew was thoughtful enough to place the dish at 1 side of our table to let the sizzling subside before moving it nearer to my boys. The chicken chop is juicy, tender and big. The mushroom sauce is flavourful yet not salty. Luckily I ordered only 1 for the boys to share and they finished every bits in the hotplate.
Me and my dad even get to have our favourite beer: Erdinger White to go with the food and paid only $138.00 for the bill. What a budget!
It was really a 'best of both world' meal for my family and kids.
