Fun and lively italian place

I frequent club street often and this was the first time I tried cuginis. My hubby and I ordered the antipasto misto, which was a giant plate of cold cuts and cheese with olives, and the club 87 pizza. Food was so good! I ordered a strawberry margarita and the hubby had a glass of wine. The margarita was nice. You can taste the alcohol and it came with a pretty strawberry cut into the shape of a flower. Didn’t see a bar at the kitchen though. Would have been interesting to see my drink being made. We didn’t order desserts as we were not very hungry but the table next to ours ordered a chocolate lava caked which looked very good. Will be back to try their desserts J

The food was good. Interior very simple. The noise level unbearable. Impossible to speak with your partner. Taking everything into consideration it is overpriced.

Very impressive stock of wine here at cuginis. So many choices! A Caucasian man whom I assume is one of the owners recommended a cabernet sauvignon from Tuscany. Robust and lingering, it was paired very well with our mains. Speaking of mains: my date had the lamb while I had the beef tenderloin. The lamb was good, there was no off-putting smell. The beef was also cooked perfectly and pink in the middle. I enjoyed the meal thoroughly. Will definitely be back.  I spent about $80/ person.

Yummy Truffle Ravioli

Visited this Italian restaurant on a weekday after work. We were seated outside (to “enjoy the ambience”) which I did not mind because I love the atmosphere at club street. I had the truffle ravioli and my friend had the carbonara. The ravioli was so yummyyyy I could smell it the moment they put it down and the taste did not disappoint either. I didn’t try my friend’s carbonara, which was topped with crisp bacon, as the original recipe is a bit too strong for my taste, but she seemed to like it.   My friend wanted a drink so we asked the staff to recommend a wine for us. I can’t remember the name of the wine but the staff seemed to know the wine list rather well so I felt quite safe with that. It seems they import most of their wines directly from Italy.   Overall I was satisfied with the food. The service was decent and the staff quite attentively helped us to refill our glasses even though we were seated outside.   Thumbs up!

Second visit! This time we tried their Pasticciona (tomato, mozzarella, parma ham and rockets) pizza and the truffle ravioli. The truffle is AMAZING. Smelled so delicious I almost ate it all. The pizza was fresh and topped generously with parma ham. We had the wine of the month which was a sauvignon bianco and I’m glad to say that this place didn’t disappoint on the second time either. This place is definitely turning out to be one of my favourite places in club street.

What to Eat
Bingsu ice shavings, sweet rice cakes and toasts invade the cafes here. Not typically offered in traditional Korean meals, desserts are served only during special occasions as refreshments, but in Singapore, the tables are turned
