Curry Times in a brainchild of Old Chang Kee, the renown Singapore brand for it curry puffs and fried snacks. Curry Times specialise in curry dishes. Basically all the menu has the curry in it, accept for the drinks. As I have regular appointments at Novena Medical Centre, I stop by twice for a quick grub last month.

The first time, I tried their Dried Curry Chicken Rice ($6.90). Presented in an old metal bowl, similar to those in 70's. Serving is quite generous, almost cover 3/4 of the rice ( see pic). The curry is fragrant, the chicken is tender, boneless and bite size. It short, it seems like I am eating their filling of curry puff with rice. Since its Yummy, who'll complain.

For the second visit, I tried their Chicken Curry with Rice ($6.90). The curry is presented in traditional bowl with a plate of rice on the side. It is spicy with a bit of lemak in the curry. However, I find it lacks the punch compare to their dried curry. It is average at best, but you can find something better in normal coffee shop. Serving is generous, I counted at least 5 pcs of chicken and 3 potatoes.

Service is good. They are quick to attend to you, take your order and deliver your meal. However this level of service come with a price of 10% service charge on their bill as well. Atmosphere setting is simple but comfortable. Air conditioned coffee shop probably the best way to sums up the atmosphere that they try to create.

Overall: a meal of curry and drink will set you back around $10.50. Although it is air-conditioned environment, I find the price a bit steep. I would say $8 to 9 a meal and drink will be more reasonable or create some set meal or remove the service charge. Anyway, if I come back, it will be for the Dried Chicken Curry.
