er...ok only leh....
Sep 20, 2008I was enticed to visit this place by tthe 1st review and the lovely photos of their food on their webby at delightndelicious.com.sg. Another plus is that, its really near my place, its only 5mins away from tiongbarhu plaza just passed Zhangde Pri Sch along ur way there.
I had the caesar salad ($4.80) and the Prosciutto De Parma Pasta ($8.50).
The serving of lettuce was generous and already pre-mixed with the sauce. It was slightly tangy and not too heavy for me but then normal souls may find it too strong. However, the bacon bits were not the crispy type, no croutons, and no shavings of cheese.
The pasta was swimming in pink sauce that was quite "jelak" (overpowering). They were very generous with the ingredients though, heaps of ham pieces, tomatos and mushrooms but only topped off with 1 fine slice of prosciutto.
Overall I find the taste OK, but not good enough to tempt me to visit again. Yes the serving is indeed generous but you pay for it as the price is sort of cafe prices, not really that cheap for a coffee shop setting.
I also hope that they can improve on their food handling especially their hand washing prior to handling food or to use gloves. The open concept kitchen gave me a clear view of the cooking process.
Check it out for yourself if you are in the area and are looking for some up market coffee shop western meal. They do have a good variety of food like steaks, lamb, pork etc... all are listed in their website.Spent about

Great food at affordable price!!
Sep 19, 2008I was recommended by my gf who works nearby. She had tried the food here! So we decided to head down for our dinner with my family. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos of the food.I was actually contemplating whether to keep secret excellent European cuisine stall a secret as I was afraid that overcrowding might reduce the quality of food. But in the end , I decided to recommend the place to this site in hope that might spur them on to come up with more culinary delights.Haha
My opinions on the food we had
1) Paprika Chicken
Chargrilled Chicken Thigh seasoned with Paprika and topped with Mozzarella Cheese. The chicken is really tender. The combination of cheese with paprika blended well. Mash and Slaw amount is just right.Priced at $6.50.
2) Chargrilled Ribeye Steak
Priced at 13.80, it is probably the most value-for-money steak. Very big cut with good thickness. And my dad really enjoyed it.
3) Vongole Blanco
Pasta with White Wine Sauce and Clams. Done Al Dente. At least 15 Clams in it. Very value for money at $8.00
4) Seafood Blanco
Pasta with White Wine Sauce and Seafood. Same as Vongole Blanco. Generous amount of seafood.
5) Proiscuto De Parma Pasta
Pasta with Parma Ham n Shitake Mushroom in Pink Sauce. My bro was exclaiming that it's the first stall in coffeeshop to serve pink sauce pasta. Pink Sauce is a combination of cream and tomato sauce.Delicious enough for my ATAS brother to revisit this place.Priced at $8.00.
6) Kurobata Pork Rack
It's my first time trying Kurobata Pork. I was pleasantly surprised by the tenderness. How can pork be so tender? Definitely must try cos it's the September Special. Only this month. Priced at $13.80( where to find better price?).
7) Tiramusu
Italian dessert made from Mascarpone Cheese, Lady finger biscuits and other ingredient.Nice presentation. Can rival alot of restaurants and cafe joints Priced at $5.20.
8) Brownie with Ice Cream
Another delight. Brownie very nicely moist. Priced at $4.50.
9) Chocolate Bread Pudding
I love bread n butter pudding. It's the third time in 4 days I have eaten bread n butter pudding. Chocolate Ice cream and Bread pudding is a good combination!
Verdict:
Good food at really affordable price. We got a free caesar salad too. Unlike other western stall in kopitiam where the coleslaw and fries are enough to make you full, Delight n Delicious serve just the right amount leaving some space for their desserts. Definitely returning for more! Hoping for more creative delights soon!Must Tries

Consistently above average western fare and good value for the money
May 2, 2009I'm an American from New York who came to Singapore by way of San Franciso who likes to integrate into the heartland as much as possible. I live with my wife in the Membina Court HDB complex and are lucky enough to have a wonderful establishment that serves really good western food in a comfortable and clean coffee shop environment named 29 Food Centre. Delight and Delicious is exactly that. Delightful and delicious. I've had their pasta numerous times and love the creamy mix which incorporates a real cream sauce generously accented with crisp bacon (pork!) and fresh shitake mushrooms. Simply delicious and the pasta was still firm but not quite al dente (caters to Asia palettes). Their other pasta are also good but the creamy mix is my favorite. My wife likes the fish and chips and for good reason. Not over battered yet comes out crisp on the outside (you can tell that the oil that it was fried in is fresh)and flaky moist on the inside. Cole slaw is definitely of the higher caliber with long strands of cabbage interspersed with strings of carrot julienne. The taste of mayonaise is slight and not overwhelming. The crinkly cut fries also rate high. Large and long crispies with a moist interior.
But my favorite so far are their burgers. They offer a "half moon" (150gm patty) or "full moon" with 2x150gms of burger. Without having to ask, the thick juicy burgers came sandwiched between two soft buns decked with iceberg lettuce, sliced onions, and a slice of tomato, medium rare. Nice and pink but not quite bloody. This is an American burger but there is another surprise about them which I will leave readers to discover on their own during their visit to Delight and Delicious. A must try at $5.50 for the half and $7.50 for the full. And their sides are excellent and at a great price!
I've also had their lamb chops in the past and found them to be quite excellent. It's just that I've always prefer American lamb chops. Next on my plate will be their ribeye steak! Highly recommended establishment in a clean comfortable environment.Must Tries

Better than some restaurants!
Feb 15, 2010After church one Sunday afternoon, my church buds suggested we check out this coffeeshop stall near his place for lunch.
It\'s just a standard stall in a normal coffeeshop that sells angmoh makan. But the taste is not the usual cooked-tomato-sauce-pour-over-pasta fare, it is really quite wicked (to quote from Jaime Oliver)!! Darn...their food beats Swenson\'s kids\' meal spag (read my other review) hands-down man!!
I ordered the Seafood Combo and the dish came piping hot and chock full of ingredients!! For a $8.90 price tag, they are NOT stingy with the clams, sotong, prawns and fish! As my grandma would say, you can taste ingredient with EVERY mouthful of pasta!! Perfect!!
Did I mention that the seafood combo comes spicy!??!?! For a spicy lover like me, that is an just amazing combination made in makan heaven!!
My church friends tried the western food selection and the feedback is good too. Can give Botak Jones a run for their money. I was a glut and tried a little of the mash potato on their plates. I may say it didn\'t taste like the instant type, very nice, very wicked...
I\'ll go there for my fix on the days when my Italian blood runs thicker in my vein. :)Must Tries

date of visit- 20/09/09
thanks to hgw, i've uncovered another cheap eat hideout.
housed in a coffeeshop in a relatively new estate, delight 'n' delicious brings affordably-priced western goodies closer to home, and easier on the pockets too!
soup of the day (mushroom)- SGD2.80
soup was well made. it wasn't the best of course, but was fantastic for its humble price.
creamy mix- SGD7.90
the highlight of the evening, this cream-based pasta was of the right taste. highly recommended!
seafood combo- SGD8.90
very generous serving of sides. this dish was recommended by the manager and was supposedly the stall's signature dish. average.
paprika chicken- SGD6.50
this was not bad. grilled chicken wasn't too oily and the cheese further enhanced the overall taste. coleslaw was bad though. still, recommended. maybe order without the slaw and add fries instead.
seafood blanco- SGD8.90
this was normal. i felt it was very similar to seafood combo.Must Tries
creamy mix

A Good Lunch Out!
Mar 9, 2009My Company organizes weekly lunch-outs for my team and since we're based in Red-Hill, this place is one of the most convenient and readily available option we have.
We came here a couple of times, though the standard is not very consistent in terms of the fried stuff, nevertheless, the dessert is a pot of gold under the rainbow.. (ok, I am lame.. it's good lah.. that's what I am trying to say)
I have tasted their Paprika Chicken, so far almost all my colleagues liked it. Served with fries, it's filling and nice. Never get bored of it. The meat can be a little dry, but with more sauce, it'll be just fine.
Fish-n-Chips is one of our favourites as well, however, this was the disappointing part, there was once the standard wasn't that good, ok-ok, and my friend didn't finish his fish. Breaded fish-chips are good option, but this time was a little over cooked.
Soup was decent and we were given it as a complimentary dish during lunch.
Award winning moon-burger was great! If you're hungry, don't wait, go for the full-moon burger. Filling, juicy and loaded with plenty of vegetables, it doesn't feel that bad after eating such hi-protein meal..
The best.... in my opinion, is their dessert...
Their Tiramisu Cake is by-far the best! i have ever tasted. Well I think it's dependent on the Chef who prepares the dessert. Tiramisu is a must try and at 5.80, it's a real steal!
I liked their brownies too, it just feels right.. Ice cream with brownie on a sunny day.. Hmm... right after lunch.. Do come on Fridays, having it near weekend makes all the difference. :)
I give ambience and Service a 7 because its a coffee-shop lah huh.. what do you expect.. :) However, because it's a hidden find, there's always plenty of seats, and very peaceful!
Value is a 7.5 because everytime we eat there, we rarely go beyond our budget. Dessert is large enough to be shared by 2-3 person and cost averages out to $8-9 per person..
Food is 8 because generally, the food is good. Due to the inconsistencies, it will not be a 9 for me.Must Tries

Sausages and mash
Dec 31, 2008I just moved nearby and absolutely suprised to find the stall below the block. Being used to western food stalls that virtually fry everything on their menu, this stall is a nice addition.
I tried their cheese sausage, which comes with a soft fluffy bun. yum yum.. Sausage was great. Top up another $1.50 and it comes with two sides. Please please try their mash. it made by them, not from instant packs. It's delicious.
I am going to try everything on the menu slowly..
Ambience is a coffee shop, it's new and bright.Spent about
