Dian Xiao Er is a restaurant serving traditional Chinese cuisine. The restaurant's rustic ambiance serves to complement the house specialty.
We ordered the cheapest set dinner in the menu. 5 person, cost $98. It consisted of daily soup, veg, mongolia pork rib, roasted duck, fish slice and veg with mushroom. Got 15% discount on set menu somemore. The portion is big and more than enough for all of us. The soup comes in individual serving and after the soup, almost half full already cos it is really a big bowl. the rest of the dishes came swiftly. oh, in fact, the came very very fast such that we don't have to wait long. mongolia pork rib is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. the gravy is yummy. you can also change it with "dong por rou" if you like.
Recently my family celebrated my niece second birthday at Jurong Point. As our intention was to have a feast at some reputable hotels to enjoy their 44% deals, we were disappointed as either they are fully booked or come with other conditions.Dian Xiao Er was our final choice. We were pleased with this branch as cooking standard tend to vary for different outlets. Our favourite was the duck marinated with ten herbs -the signature dish roasted to crispness and not reek of foul taste typical of duck meat Another favourite was the lotus fried with celery and macadamia nuts- delicious and healthy!Other dishes were the frog legs and prawn vermicelli, steamed codfish, golden fried handmade toufu and oatmeal prawns. The service was excellent as the waitress even helped us to take photos without asking and cake brought in on our own was served chilled. The final cost was a meal like zhi char prices served in a private room for 10.
