  1. Recession-Proof Restaurant

I'd chose to visit Downtown East as I was really at lost of where to bring my daughter. Since I promised to bring her on a Ferris whell ride, I thought, "Why not have dinner there as well".

I have not visited the place for more than a year now and there was a new annex with new food establishments. Still, limbering around, we ended up at the older stretch of food joints. I'd wanted to bring my parents for steamboat buffet, but they weren't hungry. So we ended up at Different Taste Cafe.

One good thing about having parents with you is that mine seems to know alot of restaurant owners, or their in-charge.

We were ushered to a uber big table - seating for 10 as they had no more tables at 6.30pm. (Note: Do go early as at 6.45pm, there was a pretty long queue forming outside the restaurant).

The food came pretty fast - Pork spare ribs, fried omelette, fish sticks - the food tasted pretty good.
    Must Tries

    Pork Spare Ribs: Totally delicious

I also recommend this place for

Type of meal:Cheap Eat/Budget, Lunch, Dinner
    Occasion:Large Groups/Gathering, Children/Family
    Atmosphere:Vibrant/Noisy
