great coffee shop
03 Aug 2012There are actually several Dimbulah outlets all within very close range of each other.
The one on Market Street, between Republic Plaza and Lau Pa Sat, is the best one for lunch food as they have a kitchen and make soups and hot lunches in addition to the sandwiches, etc. They are opposite construction so not the best ambience for the external area - but if you want sunshine, they are the best location. They also have aircon indoors.
If any of the other ones have run out of stock, this one will usually have it as they have more storage space.
There is one on Market Street opposite the Golden Shoe carpark/food market, and that one is decent for your coffee/snacks. They have an outdoor undercover area as well as minimal indoor seating.
There is another in Chevron House at street level so only indoors.
The raspberry lamingtons are generally more moist than the chocolate lamingtons.
The little chocolate squares are delicious and the perfect size given how rich they are.
The beef stew they have is more-ish as is their carbonara pasta.
Enjoy.

Pretty Petit
03 Nov 2011My espresso-macadamia bite was actually $2.20 but the nice guy saw I was in school uniform and charged $2. So sweet, I'll be back.
The small 'cake' I got was equally sweet and tasted as good as it sounds.
I don't really know how to describe the 'cake'. It's not cake, more like really dense cookie crumbs with macadamia nuts packed together in a square and topped with espresso frosting. The result is an extremely crumbly treat that has the goodness of macadamia nuts and shortbread-cookie like base goes well with the espresso icing. You can really taste the espresso though I think the top part was too sweet for my liking, sugar overload perhaps. Price wise, it's typical cafe pricing so I won't complain.

first review ever
03 Mar 2011My friends have been raving about the coffee at Dimbulah for quite some time already and so I decided to have lunch there with my friends today. It was a nice place that wasn't too crowded or noisy :)
I had a toasted smoked salmon baguette (4.90) and it was a tad too salty and plain for my liking. There was a thin mustard spread with lettuce and smoked salmon with no other vegatables to neutralise the taste.
I also tried my friend's mushroom soup (8.50?) which sold out by 12.30pm and while it was filled with mushrooms, it was also really salty.
Maybe I should go there for the coffee some day
