Good food, great service

En Japanese Dining Bar was a pleasant discovery. My dinner party was impressed by a number of standout dishes, such as the Shirako, Ankimo, and the ultra-tender Motobu Black Wagyu. The manager was deeply insightful and taught us lots about the origins of our food.

definitely will come back ....

Cosy atmosphere. Friendly and attentive service. Great sake. Good quality beef (motobu - black waygu). The crab shabu shabu buffet is value for money too.  One of the better japanese eatery in the bukit timah/dunearn area.

Not Worth It!

I had never tasted such horrible Japanese food like this. ALL prices were marked up twice and claimed to be giving you a discount (even a hot green tea that is like hot water cost $2.90++). Dont bother wasting your time (there's no unless). Food anywhere else is much better. Sashimi is pathetically small, thin and low quality. Service is also very slow even though the restaurant is not full, gotta chase up a few times. Really dont waste your money. It may just spoil your evening.

Total waste of time and money

Overprice food. I mean really overprice for the quality of food dished out
usually there are some saving dishes. But I can't believe that everything ordered was bad.
Either it was dry, not fresh or too salty.
I should have just gone to a Japanese supermaket and buy some frozen food which will taste much better Or just eat some Japanese food in a food court.

Total Waste of Money and Time!

I would have loved to give this place a negative rating if the system allows it. A party of 5 of us came to have the buffet. The manager tried to sell us a grilled fish that is outside the buffet menu. As there were a number of items we meant to try on the buffet menu, we politely declined. From that moment on, the manager turned snooty.

Other than the first round of food which came shortly after, the rest of the orders took ages. Literally ages. On the yakitori page, there were about 16 to 20 items. We ordered most of them since each order of item were like just 2 sticks. Throughout the night, only 2 of them came. 2! The rest of those we ordered just didn't make it from the kitchen to our table. Having checked out some online reviews, we really wanted to try their Salmon Wafu Capaccio. We ordered the item twice and were at the restuarant from 7 pm to 10 pm. You guess it. The order never came! Our other orders came at such a snail-paced we pestered the waiters and waitresses a few times. In the end, we were just tired telling the waiters to check our orders.

This place is NOT cheap, i.e. $68++ buffet. While the food is reasonably good, the service sucks.  BIG TIME. None of the waiters knew what we ordered. Never mind they were using an electronic gadget to take orders. The staff was just clueless. The place has no system whatsoever. In case you think it is a once off incident. there were 2 tables near us who were complaining about their orders not being served too.

The icing on the cake was when we paid and got the receipt, whatever we ordered which did not come appeared on the receipt! It's really HUH?! If the items were in the system, why aren't they served?

It was a REALLY HORRID experience. Would never ever step food in that line of establishment. Would advise all my friends likewise too. Frankly speaking, I would have been happier in MacDonald's in the same building.
