STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED.
Portions of food as well as service was horrible. In particular, the manager/staff, Raymond, had displayed a disgusting attitude. When I first entered with my family, he introduced himself as the chef and immediately started offering us a selection of fresh fishes that had come in. He kept blabbering on about fishes and other ala carte menu items that we could order.
After my mum told him that we had purchased a Groupon voucher, he said 'why didn't you tell me earlier?' and immediately changed his attitude. Food was served in tiny portions, fish was not fresh, and I felt that dishes were highly overpriced for the portions given. We ordered only 7 dishes at first, as we thought that would be enough for 6 people. However, the portions they served us were as if they could only add up to 2-3 full meals.
Service from the staff was bad as well. I had a feeling Raymond instructed his staff not to entertain guests who used Groupon vouchers as well as other guests who paid normal prices. Sure, maybe the quality of our food would be compromised since we used a voucher. But that does not entitle him the right to treat his Groupon customers differently from other customers paying the full price. He did not bother to hide his intentions at all, which felt repulsive and unpleasant.
We wanted to know how much of the voucher amount we had left so we asked a waitress for the bill. It became clear that he wanted us to eat and leave asap when Raymond came over with the bill instead of the waitress and told us the total amount, which had added up to $140++ for the 7 items. They had charged us $3 per cup of green tea which tasted only like hot water.
I understand that the Groupon voucher acts as some form of price discrimination or marketing strategy to separate customers with different price sensitiveness. But this is not the way to go. Honestly, if he wants to sustain his business, he should work on ensuring long-term customer satisfaction instead of only being nice to customers who pay the full fee and treating those who use vouchers as if they deserve to be punished for wanting to buy groupon vouchers and pay a cheaper amount. He is a horrible manager I strongly advice anyone against buying the groupon or visiting his restaurant. It's not as if people who buy groupon vouchers cannot afford to pay the full price. Every customer deserves to be given the same treatment. People who buy Groupon vouchers are no less than those who do not. They are still customers who paid and contributed to the restaurant's business.
