I have heard so much about Fei Fei Wanton Mee and have always wanted to try it. There has been so much raves about it being the best wanton noodle in Singapore. When I happen to be in Joo Chiat, I had to detour to Fei Fei Wanton Mee and try this for myself! There are two Fei Fei Wanton located just a stone throw away from each other.

I visited Fei Fei Wanton Mee at 72 Joo Chiat Place. In this coffee shop, there is only Fei Fei Wanton Mee and it is open 24 hours daily.

We ordered 2 bowls of Wanton Mee (dry) and a bowl of Dumpling Soup. It was served to us within 10 minutes. Fei Fei Wanton Mee does not come with soup unless you order a bowl of Dumpling or Wanton Soup.

It looks like this bowl of Wanton Mee has nothing, except noodles!

Ingredients such as char siew, wantons and vegetables are hidden underneath the noodles.

So what is so special about the wanton mee? The difference is the noodle / mee kia and wantons! Each strand of mee kia is smooth, thin with fragrant of egg flavour. It was cooked under high heat to ensure that the noodles are soft, yet spring without breaking apart. The spicy chilli sauce added flavour to the noodle. I really enjoyed the noodles! (now I know why everyone is raving about this) The wantons are filled with minced pork seasoned with whitebait, pepper and sesame oil. The down side is that the wantons are too small.

We made the right decision ordering the Dumpling Soup. 6 pieces of big dumplings. Each piece was filled with minced pork seasoned with whitebait, pepper and sesame oil, prawn and spring onions! The skin of the dumplings were smooth and thin! The dumplings were delicious!

Overall, I like my Fei Fei Wanton Mee experience. The noodles / mee kia and the dumplings are fantastic! Wish that they open one at the north instead of having both outlets side by side along Joo Chiat Place.

I don't like it at all despite of a lot of people lining up for the noodle, it's expensive for it's quality.

That was the first time we couldn't finish up the noodle as the noodle itself not soft, and the sauce for dry noodle is too salty. The soup one isn't that bad compare to the dry one. One of my friends had eaten an unfully cooked wanton. We were so disappointed to know it's one of the famous wantoon noodle in town.

If you like malaysian style wanton noodle, please don't try this.

My friend and I were really excited to try Fei Fei as we've seen how crowded it gets at night. So when we happened to be in the east one day, we grabbed the chance and headed to Fei Fei!

Perhaps our expectations were too high, but we didnt think that it was very good. We definitely prefer kokkee wanton mee. However, I must say that the fried wantons are pretty delicious

Where to find QQ noodles? Fei Fei wanton mee has really nice noodles. Even when u takeaway the noodles won't be awful , it will still be QQ by the time u get home.

Opposite the row of terrace shop houses on Joo Chiat Place site this little gem of a find. There's a big lighted sign in chinese and it's located within this coffeee shop. It's been around for ages and can get relatively crowded during lunch and dinner. There is ample parking around the side streets and free parking starts at 5pm in this part of the fine city.

Definitely must try the dry wonton noodles. The noodles are hand made and slightly al dente when they come up. Fans of the hk wanton mee noodles won't be disappointed, though not the same it's not as stringy and retains the flavours well. It's more like a chilli pan mee/kolo mee in taste and texture.

The plate comes out looking pretty plain, with the spoon full of chilli mmmm.... you gotta mix it through. The noodles are fantastic and the blend with the chilli and other secret ingredients makes the dish fantastic. It's cheap @ $2.50 for a small and $3.50 for a large bowl of noodles. Extra ingredients are $1. The char siew is nothing special, wontons are decent but the chilli and the noodles make this tasty dish.

Would definitely recommend it for lunch, dinner or a snack with friends. It apparently opens at 11am and closes at 11pm. Nothing pretentious about it. Go now! :)

Dad decided to bring mum and I to this Wanton Mee Store this morning, supposedly rather reknown in Spore. Its in a fairly old coffeeshop. For those who like the "KuChing" Mee, would probably like this as the noodles are fatter and more "Q" compared to the normal Wanton Mee that the stalls will serve. There are two different pricing

S$2.50 and S$3.50. We ordered $3.50 which is the bigger serving. Well, personally I find it a little too salty , especially the wanton. I still prefer the normal wanton mee noodles, less Q.

This is the first time I went there and I went there for dinner. The coffee shop only sells this wanton mee and rojak.

People who like the QQ mee will definitely like this wanton mee!

The price is reasonable as it is not easy to find food that cost $2.50 and serve the same portion as it is 4-5years ago.

The food is nothing fantastic but it is real cheap in today's cost of living.

I will definitely come back often if it is not for the inaccessibility.

    1. Weighty Man I've tasted this at Joo Chiat but the stall by the same name, but no relationship at Yuhua, Jurong East is better. Their char siew melts in the mouth and is full of taste.
