Bad Service/ So-so food
27 Apr 2012The food there is so-so. Only go there if you like lizards crawling above as you are eating.
The parking is the worst especially during the weekend. Be prepared to get a scolding in front of everyone if you are not alert to the announcement to shift your car.
Don't waste your money there.

More than Meets The Eye
22 Oct 2010Dun be fooled by the dull look of the coffeeshop front as this seafood cze char is actually the hidden gem for many of the residents around the area. Step to the back of it and you will know why i say its a gem. But I still dun quite understand why all diners like to sit at the back of the coffeeshop and not in front of it.....Their signature dish is the curry fish head, with the super crispy deep fried 豆支 and tasty brinjal, 豆卜, lady's finger etc. If not for my diet, i would have gone for the 2nd plate of rice! The smallest curry fish head cost $19 but its good for up to 3 to 4 pax. To conclude, i'm wrong that woodlands road/bk panjang/cck area has no interesting seafood places.

Competent, easy and convenient
08 Aug 2010I live around the place so Ga-Hock for me is really a backyard eating place. It also helps that the restaurant takes orders via phone and you can then pick up your take-away order on the way home.
I'll be up-front about it. Ga-Hock is nothing fantastic. It's a run-of-the-mill zi-char place sited in a run-down coffee shop with a drain right behind. That said, the place offers good value for money, and has a range of pretty high-end seafood options cooked competently. Ga-Hock also offers an ambience that is hard to find anywhere else in Singapore, the zi-char in an old shophouse, very reminiscent of old Singapore.
Ga-Hock is quite popular, esp for weekend dinners, so watch for that.
